The optician told me it would be classes as cosmetic about 12 months ago, DS asked about the lazer treatment adverts he had seen on the telly, he's never had an issue with other kids, other then when he was very small a lad got upset because he had mr men glasses and he wanted some aswell :D only problem we see is he is in the ATC and would love to join the RAF but as it stands at the moment he wouldn't pass the medical (altho he's the best shot on the range) but alls not lost he's young enough that maybe corrective surgery may be possible in the future

Slightly off topic, but does he have "flat" vision too, where he can't see in 3D? Common issue where one eye is not used so much. Doesn't really affect day-to-day life but makes things like touching your two index fingers together with arms stretched out in front of you difficult, just as it does if you shut one eye.
That could unfortunately class him as unfit to be a pilot. Doesn't affect shooting skills as you only use one eye for that - I know from experience!

Just following up on this - did the passport office accept the photo with the strabismus?

Thanks - a friend of mine has a noticeable strabismus and has been putting off getting a passport for ages because he thought they'd reject the picture. I shall tell him to give it a go.
