Woohoo its Friday, this week has seemed really long probably after all that time off over christmas. Today i'm in work so my list is

    - check banks done
    - update spreadsheet done
    - get hubby to ask friends for our baby stuff back as they have finished with some of it.
    - packed lunches are done as well as dinner, which is leftover beef stew made into beef pie.done
    - swimming bag needs to be packed for tomorrow
    - hubby needs to ring virgin to cancel credit card
    - we need to get some bags down from the loft and sort out some stuff to ebay and some to give to my friend who is expecting her first baby.

Think thats it, its going to be a busy evening rather than a busy day!!

hey all, whoopie doo it's Friday, yeah!!!

So sorry to hear you're low Ziggy..hope docs went OK and you got the help you need. Well done for asking.

    Today was a mixed day:

    - had to spend £230 on new lock and keys..replacing one of the most expensive Chubb locks ever..however at 20 years old presume it was going to fall over sometime. Will also need more keys cut as realise that loads of people need access to the house :o
    - £14 on taxis and £5 on coffee and cake (waiting for an appt) as am off work and can't drive :(

But other than that, no spends from me and hubby..and school dinners already paid for this week so that's cool.

About to do a PAD now..

    Have a great weekend all

    Hi all

Hope you've all had good days!

DNMS - how many days have you left at your job?
Pixie - yay for sleep and glad your DD's better!
Vintage43 - I think 80p was my lowest work expense claim - better in my pocket though!
Stitchy - very jealous of your creative skills, I'm still beavering away on the first row of the knitting I started in... November? (In fairness, I haven't touched it for at least 6 weeks!)
Ixia - hope no damage from the winds!
Aria's Tail - woop woop on new house!!!
NTBY - hope you managed to stop feeling tearful, horrible feeling especially when you have no good reason!
Starnac - waffles sound yummy, I really must give them a try!
    JustDave - congrats on job!!
Little Pink Purse - hope you're feeling better now, how did the NSD plan go?
Ziggy - big hugs, hope doctor was able to offer you some help/support xx
Niksyg - which opticians did you use and did you have an NUS card or just a normal student card? Trying to work out if it's worth getting an NUS card...
chunkytfg & Natlie- thanks for letting me know it's Ebay free listing, woop!
Bagpuss - I hate paying for fruit in supermarkets, we don't seem to have a market here, and I was very jealous when I was in the market in Barnstaple a few months ago at the range and price of the fruit!
Charityworker - very jealous of you being a steward at the Olympics!
house of cards - who do you recycle your ink cartridges with? I used to use Tesco for 100 clubcard points, but never seemed to get them...
sugarcube84 - agree with you about the week being long, Friday seemed an age away!
Perni - honeymoon all booked? Very jealous!
brizzledfw - very annoying about the lock but at least you've replaced it before it fell over and you potentially got locked out!

Right, off to have a bit of tea and arrange an Amazon return, and package up Ebay items.

    Have a great night all!

    Good Morning all!

    Today's DFW smallies:

    - Check online banking. Done
    - Packed lunch at work with some Xmas choccies as a treat. Yum
    - Have my eyes tested for FREE and then use student card to get discounted glasses on 2 for 1! DAMN! Had to pay for test as didn't read the small print and NUS not accepted on 2for1. Did a quick bit of maths and decided it's cheaper to get 2for1 and not discount - costing £105 :eek:
    - Dinner from freezer tonight - seems to be a bit of a theme at the mo but don't want to go shopping! Scrum!
    - VSP - £1.46 (not much but one of my accounts was at a flat £350 already  ) Whoop!

    Enjoy your Friday :)

KJP - if I had have gone with the student discount, they would have taken my non NUS plain and simple student card. I have found that most places do to be honest :)
Off to the pub with friends this evening, not particularly DFW but it's been a tough week at work and I just want to chill out!

Hope you are all having good evenings

    Hi everyone!!! :hello:

Don't get too excited I'm not going back to regularly posting just yet....LOL Great to see the thread so busy, I have been back in the habit of reading the forums in the past few weeks, and have read Small Things for the past week at least....and yes mum, I saw that you're knitting me a case for my phone.....ta!!! :p (Mum is Stitchy for those that don't already know...)

Not a lot going on in my life at the moment aside from a few momentous things...:-
    - Learnt how to use the time clock on my water heater, only lived here 4 1/2 years....! No more remembering to switch it off!
    - Paid off massive nursery arrears (not sure if I'd done that before I stopped posting?)
    - Paid off Halifax OD
    - All set to pay off Next account and CAP1 card (I know I know I cleared that once...but I "needed" new bike gear...?)
    - Am using hotwater bottle mum got me for xmas rather than heated blanket (no central heating)
    - Got a £2k payrise :D
    - Got a £322 rebate from Southern Electric for over paying leccy for the past year - hastily spent on a new TV for my room and two BEAUTIFUL dresses....! (I know...!!!)
    - Didn't go overboard on xmas at my dads, normally spend on my lil bro and sis like a MENTALIST but not this year!
    - First time in driving my Diesel car I got in the summer to dads in North Wales (from Salisbury) cost me £60 as opposed to £140 it used to in the Merc!!!!!! I will NEVER buy a petrol car again! Well...unless I win the lottery and buy an oil rig or something...oh wait. I don't do the lottery!

Well sorry to barge in on your cosy little thread with my random shouting of news, not a lot goes on around these parts so it's kind of "What things have you achieved ever" for me. :rotfl:

Right, I must go and watch "New Girl" on my new TV...gotta get my monies worth!

    J x

PS Ziggy sorry you've been feeling low, vitamin D tablets appear to have done wonders for me ;)
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!
  • Little Pink Purse - hope you're feeling better now, how did the NSD plan go?

hi sadly i feel the same managed to do ever thing but not the ironing grr and i never managed a nsd as we got a takeaway shame on me xxx
debt total £71k AGE 47 TRY TO BE DEBT FREE BY 50
  • Evening all! Hope everyone is ok...

    Today I have:

    - had an appointment at the bank, opened a new credit card and paid off other cards with it, got 18m on 0% so got a few months grace to get the overdraft sorted before starting to pay it off :money: whilst i was there, cheekily asked if they'd remove some charges off my account, saving a tenner :money: also left info of my current mortgage to see if they can better it...fingers crossed

    - Been to pizza hut with a friend for tea, used a bogof voucher for mail meals and got the xmas voucher pened to find i'd won free dessert, so with the free salad as our starters, a three course meal for two of us with drinks came to just £12 :money:

    - checked online banks, no surprises thankfully

    - lunch from freezer for me and gave son packed lunch instead of money for school meal

    - been to flicks to see mission impossible 4, had to pay full price (but have enought points now for next time to be free) but bought sweets in £ shop before I went ;)
