Friday 6th January What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today??!!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!:T
Morning all!
It's FRIDAY!!!!!
Today I will:
Check banks
Check TCB
Check CCs
Check Ebay
SB surveys!!!!
Keep up 'me' routine - moisturise, remember to remove makeup (!), prod at teeth with dental stick thingie (sorry if there are any dentists on here!) and...
Day 2 of 30 day shred :O
Food from stores
Update MS Money
Update food tracker
NSD
Add a few things to shiny new 2012 diary
2lts free water
Leftover Christmas fruit for an afternoon snack
Send off travel claim
Work hard!
Carshare to work
Post test item
Think that's it for teh day!
Have a great day all!

morning kjp! Thanks for starting us off. Your post made me laugh when I read "think thats it for the day" - there's soooooo much there!
Am so very tired today and running late (but not really caring that much)
Today:
* have checked banking x 2
* NSD
* brekkie (porridge) and dinner from sores
* lunch will be toast out of the freezer at work - so free to me!
* Go to the gym this afternoon - I finish early on a Friday so no excuses!
* Call BG and work out the bills that they have sent me as they are so wrong!!! (the meter reading is about a 1000 units less than what it was when I moved in!)
shockingly that's all I can think of. Must be the tiredness. Hurrah for Friday's guys xDF as at 30/12/16

Hi everyone.
Really excited today as go and sign for and pick up keys for new house this afternoon, yippee! :j. After a couple of days of utter despair talking to rip off letting agents who wouldn't let me keep my dogs I have found a nice private landlord. House is £120 a month cheaper than anything through a letting agent and he's not too fussed about the pooches, just asked for a slightly bigger deposit which i'm quite happy with. The house needs a lot of cosmetic work as the previous tennents have left it a tip but landlord is giving us 2 months rent free if we paint it and sort out a couple of the carpets ourselves. He has said we can do what we like with the place as long as it's decent which is great .
So that blows the NSD out of the window by over £1K today LOL.
Todays DFW list:
Look for a job ( a 400 mile round trip to work is too excessive), will start locally to new house to try and save using the car.
Go to Aldi near new house and get bin bags, cleaning stuff etc.
Have a chat with a friend who is a sparky and joiner when I get keys to see what he could help with.
Check surveys on line.
Have a look for any money saving ways to buy paint etc. (and look at colours).
Going out for a meal tonight with friends to local pub, will be sensible.
Think that's about it for today, gonna be a hectic one.0 -
Good morning, all! Thanks for starting us, KJP.
Any luck with the OH, DNMS? Hope you got some cuddles, best stress relief I know of!
Good to see you back Stitichy! Hope you're well.
Im feeling a bit fragile this morning, will try to get through the day without tears, but we'll see! No good reason, maybe its from sleeping badly. Anyway, hey ho...
Yesterday was an NSD, much needed. Today will be a LSD as I need to buy rice and cheese for some friends coming by for dinner tonight.
Today:- pancakes from leftover batter for brekkie at home - to be honest I've never made pancakes before and didnt realize how cheap they were to make, I think a pancake breakfast for the neighborhood might be on the cards next time we want to socialize
- bike to and from work
- work hard as ginormous deadline on
- pop out at lunch to try to buy rice somewhere... dont have time to cook it so will buy from any of the little restaurants nearby (dont tell the ladies on the OS board they'd eat me alive :rotfl:)
- bulk out leftover chili with toms from fridge and ad some broth to the soup so it stretches to a dinner party
- drink wine and eat food brought by dinner guests in addition to what Im making!
- check banking and update budget, trying to stretch into next week without withdrawing anything!
Unfortunately not going to be much of a weekend for me as I will have lots of work to do, but still, TGIF!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

morning everyone. Thanks kjp for starting us off.
NTBY - DH bought me a waffle iron for Christmas last year. The recipe book it came with listed brandy and about 8 eggs to make 8 waffles. Well 8 eggs is excessive and I couldn't really put brandy in waffles for DD now could I? so I made up good old pancake batter, made it a bit thicker than for pancakes and ta da lovely waffles. We have them for breakfast about once a month as a treat (DD would have them every morning otherwise) and we always get visitors that morning if we tell anyone! :rotfl:
Aria - great news about the house
so my list today
check banks
Ironing
meals from stores
heating on low
make window stickers for DS's bedroom
tidy kitchen
ice cakes DD made yesterday
charge camera ready for mass eb4y listing over weekend
walk 5000 steps
do work for church
finish sorting bedroom ready to be painted
that'll do for now
Happy Friday everyoneGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
