I am devastated and not sure what to do next

  • I went to the cat rescue charity on Saturday and as predicted I was in tears but only because despite having got my cat there 18 months ago the volunteers remembered her as she was quiet a character and they were telling me stories of what she did the short time she was there.

I was glad I went, had a cuddle with some of the cats but didn't feel ready to take any home, however there was one little boy there which I cannot stop thinking about. He is only 4 months old but has been at the rescue since November and is a tiny wee thing and is very nervous, he was trying to hide in his litter tray and you could just see 2 big eyes starring out.
I know he would need time to build his confidence but I can't work out why no one has taken him home but I think he will find a home with us. Not only do I just want to scoop him up and look after him but because he is such a nervous little soul I can't imagine he would really want to go outside in to the big bad world.
We also want to get him a friend but will only do this if there is a cat at the rescue which will be suited to live with him.

I will never forget the cat I have lost and I will always miss her, she was a one in a million cat but I also can't let a cat that needs a suitable home go when we have the space, time and the patience to take him on.

Adoption day is Saturday so will update when we have got him.

    Thank you all

So sorry for your loss. I'm glad your planning on helping another cat or 2.

I go on a american greyhound forum where many also have indoor cats. I get the impression its deemed irresponsible to let cats roam there, i guess they do have various predators that may eat kitty along with the usual dangers.
