A car seat that folds up?

One for the car/mpv experts here

Anyone know what car/models that have a passenger seat that folds "up" - ie the seat bit that you sit on that folds up?

(looking for something for my camper that will stow away)

Thanks

Back seat of the Zafira does, but the mountings are integral to the floor.

I presume your looking for a seat from an MPV you could fit into your camper??

Ford galaxy, Seat alabhama (SP) and the VW sharon have the folding seats. Zafira doesn't have what you could really call seats lol. Trouble is you will ideally also need to floor fittings so not sure how easy it would be to move them into something else. You could also look at something like the chrysler voyager IIRC they fold up

OP - are seriously considering putting some sort of temporary passenger seat in your camper van? How will the occupant of that seat be restrained in the event of an accident??

Picasso rear seats fold and can be removed individually allthough if you are intending to use it while driving you would need to fix it properly and fit seat belts.

Transit connect front passenger seat folds in a similar way to most hatchback rear seats.

The rear 60/40 seats from the 06 on civic have squabs that fold up and can fold completely flat (for a load through, not sure how useful that would be in the front of a camper)

You would need the seat, mounting points and the clip for the floor that the bottom support bar secures onto when in the normal position. You'd also have to come up with a seatbelt solution of some sort

Don't be so dramatic you would fit the seat the same way you would fit any other functioning seat into a camper, believe it or not its done all the time its not big issue to fit a seat properly with a seat belt. Using a seat from a people carrier is probably a good way to go as you long as you fit the floor rails as a lot of the people carriers are designed to have the seats removed easily.

99% of cars have a folding 60/40 rear seats but they would be totally useless in anything other than car. You would also need the back brackets to stop the back from falling forward. A lot of seats from the people carriers are self contained so the back stays up with the need for U brackets.

Well aware most hatchbacks have standard 60/40 split seats - was thinking the single seat with upwards folding / self securing base may be useful though forgot about the back bar/bracket which could be a problem

Rear seats from a Toyota lucida fold up, look at the google images to see what they look like.

    May be of some use.

Single seats? LandRover Discovery side facing seats sound like what you want.
