Ex Monsoon employee not being paid owed wages for over 4 months

I was asked to post this on behalf of someone as we can find no info online regarding what can be done.....
" I was last paid on 26th August 2011 and handed in my notice the very same day, but had worked 24 hours worth of wages previous to handing in said notice. I was also paid a week in hand when beginning the job and had nine days annual leave left to take.
So I was expecting 24 x £6.63 + week in hand + nine days annual leave.
I was due to be paid on the last Friday of September 2011. My wages did not come in, I was told it was a problem with the payroll service which is with a company called Northgate. I was told by my former manager as i was no longer an employee I would not have too wait until next month for the wages and that she would contact me.
Fast forward to 23rd December 2011 I still had not received any wages and was told Monsoon could not do anything about this and on top of that the manager who was dealing with this was now leaving and I would just have too wait.
I requested It be brought to the area managers attention and to this day no one had been in touch since. There is no reason these would be withheld as I followed company procedure when leaving and the manager had no issues with this and has never said there is an issue. She in fact agrees with me and blames it on Northgate.
Is there anything that can be done here as I have now been waiting over 4 months for wages which the manager acknowledged I have worked. Surely it cannot be legal? "

I agree, putting it in writing to the person at the top would be the most likely way to get something done
Monsoon discounts must have been tough to give up! What a good job!

The Person's first post suggests that they didn't -

If they had worked their notice, then they would be expecting the above; plus the time worked in their notice period - surely? If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
