Doesnt seem paypal payments are working - message comes up stating their account is restricted0

Hi, just a word of caution. I ordered some sale items on 24 December, before they went into administration and I still have not received my items. Fortunately I paid with paypal so not too worried. I sent an email about five days ago, as my order still shows as 'pending', but so far no reply.0

Those having problems with getting the offer to work, I was 'playing' with a basket yesterday but haven't ordered anything yet and I found if you had items in your basket that were under £2.50 the offers so for instance the paper plates packs I mentioned earlier then it was adding them in the 4 for £10 offer but charging full price for the granny racer. Just tried to buy using paypal and it seems they have stopped Hawkins from accepting paypal payments. Made me think twice about ordering. We already know its in administration...
But if you are still willing to risk it, you should pay by debit card.
I don't agree! Debit cards offer the very least protection of any sort of payment.....not sure about Credit cards if the amount is under £100....sure there must be an article on this site about it somewhere.Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Am torn whether to order now, don't want to lose my 30 quid. Really sad to hear of closures, as some one said, staff in the shops were always really nice!
Article on administration link here incase it is useful for anyone.

Yes I'd heard they were in administration but still trading - so I did order - only for under £20 so will just have to cut my losses if I don't get the stuff - luckily never told anyone in family I have ordered so they will be unaware of by 'boob' if it happens!
Probably should have thoguht first last night before diving in!Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of a company in administration but it worries me. Our local pub had the administrators in; they walked in, cleared the pub, and locked the door. And that was it, they ceased to trade on the spot.
Whatever the legalities are, the goods aren't yours until they're in your hands but they take your money on the spot, and that money might be really hard to get back0 -
Just spotted his article - The administrators have closed all but 25 stores but have said they will continue trading from those stores and online -

I went to the Milton Keynes store yesterday and tried to get a refund on a faulty toy which broke after only a couple of uses (a wooden pistol / firing range game which was very poorly designed ) bought on Christmas Eve. I had the receipt and had paid cash for it. I was told that I could exchange the item but no cash refunds were allowed now that they were in administration. (The staff were very pleasant and apologetic about it.) There was a small sign at the back of the shop saying as much which I felt should have been more prominently displayed by the tills. I found something else as an exchange but won't be buying again from this company any time soon. I wouldn't recommend ordering on-line unless you are absolutely sure about what you are buying as I have found that the quality of some of their products is poor and like me you won't get a full refund.0
