Well we know that now, after the OP went to the bank, as suggested, and got them to confirm that the signature was fake.

Personally I'd have got the bank to deal with it, as it was them who would have been the likely victim of the attempted fraud. It seems they are being very lazy considering one of their customer's accounts could be compromised.

Unless they are confident the fake signature will be spotted during clearing.

Just ignore the ignorant, rude and stupid people here, unfortunately, as you can see, there's quite a few of them on chat boards and this forum is no exception.

I'd agree. Possession of stolen goods is another.
