Going wireless with BT if you're on Option 1

Sorry if this has been posted before. I'm on option 1 on the BT broadband but want to go wireless just to avoid all the wires around the house, I don't use a laptop or anything. I phoned them up they told me I could get one on their site for 50 squids if I buy it online. They put me through to the call cente in India and I had no joy in the answers to my questions.
What sort of router do I need ( what model number etc.)
My PC's about 5 years old will I need need anything else?
Do I just plug it into the main phoneline into the house?
Where on the BT site can I buy it for 50 squids, would it be on the BT shop bit or is there is a special link for existing customers?
Would appreciate it if anyone could help as I going around in circles with BT with these simple queries!

you can buy ANY ADSL router/modem to replace your existing BT modem and either a usb adapter to plug in the pc or a PCI cardEx forum ambassador

If you go into your local tesco they have some Linksys ADSL Modem routers left from £69.99 to a discontinued price of £8.74 roughly
check this:

Dont know if there will be any left in your area but i picked up a few yesterday.
You just wireless router to attach to your existing modem or a wireless adsly modem router, also if your computer doesnt have a wireless card youll need one of those too or a wireless usb adapter.
Another one to check out would be ebay but i would recomend this place

i have pruchased a few thigns from them and service is great.
Anyways hope some of this has helped.
oh and if you want o buy the bt one, you need to click on the upgrade option on your account, you dont actually need to upgrade and you can select the same package you are on and then during the process it will offer you a special price of £50 if you buy it now, but then that will start your 12month contract again.
