We own 0% of our current home (rented) but 100% of a large field :rotfl:

I think my BTL is probably at about 70% ownership though. Interesting exercise to look at it the other way around to LTV calculations.

A complete field...now that is exciting....I would love an orchard or wood...do you have room for that too?

Great way of looking at your mortgage as a percentage of how much house you own :) Must encourage you to pay more off.

Hmm. Thats the idea, but in fact I am pushing more into the pension and the S&S ISA and the EF. The boiler is also losing pressure so the servicing guy is out this week. A newboiler would trash my savings so fingers crossed a new part will sort it for a few more years. But yes forwards on all fronts. I do want to have a tiny mortgage in 5 years or even better...no mortgage at all :D

I hope a very small version. We will probably plant some trees right down at the far end of the horses field; between them and the neighbour's house. (Including a few baby christmas trees so we can cut down our own). And then in the house plot, between the house and the road, we will plant some fruit trees.

Sounds great. Get some traditional varieties from a specialist nursery. Its so much fun choosing and certainly down here its nice to get apple trees for cider ;) We also had cobnuts, medlars (which I adore) and plums. Oh and sloes...so blackthorn. Can you tell I love a fruit tree that needs no care other than a harvest at the appropriate time??!! :rotfl:

Nice quiet day. Some work to help make the week less stressful, some exercise and I was spoilt this morning with flowers, cards and a present from DD1. Nice lunch too - mashed avocado and egg on toast. Sourdough toast too - OH does have his uses :p

Will do some more work later, but for now signing off to cruise the diaries and update YNAB a bit. Hoping for a much better savings rate this month. As I have hiked our income that should help, but also we are cutting back on some stuff too. The school trip total is a nightmare though..as previously reported - best part of £600 has had to be paid this month with more to come.

Boiler man coming Tuesday and motorhome servicing too is expected to be massive...have just adjusted YNAB to take account of the expected humungous amounts we expect it to cost...but fingers crossed for a reasonable outcome ladies and gents. Oh and currently not taking students this summer, (but note I said this last year and then got two as they were desperate and I thought who am I to turn down hard cash:rotfl:) but may have one at the half term breaks. Also planning to try and shift a couple of items on the Bay, IT stuff...will see how it goes. Not trying for clothes etc at the moment, they can go to a CS we have decided

A freezer meal this evening (mackerel)..whoop :) and then maybe some Line of Duty?

Yes I try to keep it separate in my mind...I hope to get the same thinking underway with the EF and not just raid it every week for some 'unexpected' expense (which could have always been foreseen..bit like what :money: says about Xmas)..on that note I have just moved £500 across from the EF to the current account to help with cashflow until next Friday when most of the household money seems to come in this month, but I have made a corresponding forward dated transfer for then to move the money back, and top up some more..small steps maybe? :o

Yeah and they get the other 364 days to boot...;) we are readdressing centuries of patriarchy my friends...:) Especially in the City, what price the gender gap? That exercise throwing up some interesting facts and figures.. I know some banks and other organisations are still holding off publication.

Lovely night out with friends and no sore head today. Whoop. Busy day doing chores and spending some money. Freshened up the work wardrobe but was in the sale. I am really trashing my shoes at the moment so got some new pairs.

Finally letting the chickens out again into the bigger run..and just hoping that the big fox has found other things to eat!!

Beanie...I am always a bit conservative about house values. Always think what if prices slip, its after all only worth as much as someone is prepared to offer on a given day. So I generally start with a conservative sum as the house value, not the asking price in the estates agents for a similar one for example.

Off to the cinema. Couldnt find a suitable voucher so its back home for pizza afterwards. Spent £90 in Trose. But got lots of stuff and have meal planned. OH making a batch of curry for the week ahead as it happens too.

Think thats it. Have a great weekend all

    Xx

Very odd - I posted on your diary this morning and was sure that it arrived but can't see it anywhere!
Anyway I said have a very happy Mother's Day (which you appear to have had:j). Also glad you had a good time on Friday and hope you enjoyed the cinema.

Re the patriarchy - our firm is now of a size where they need to publish - waiting with baited breath on that one - I think I might just email HR on Monday to see how they are getting on with it........:D

Best of luck with the HR conversation.. a friend is doing the same thing. Also a very male dominated industry and their stats were nothing short of shocking. It does help working for oneself sometimes!!! :rotfl:

Hoping for a slightly easier week. Making another pledge to keep spends low. OH very keen to shift the holiday debt and the OD crept up whilst we were away. TTs done today. Also reading Frugalwoods book which is an excellent read. I do like her style. Lots of helping kids with homework and revision, makes for a jampacked week but its worth it. Taking lunches and flask of cofffee in is helping a bit too.

Roast chicken this eve from a recipe in the free Trose magazine. Cannae wait!!

    Have a good day folks.
