LBM in 2003.. What have I been doing since??!

Hello lovelies
I think its been a pretty productive day. I have had a headache too, but its finally easing which is a big thing.
I have been shopping with the girls, but otherwise a pretty decent day. Some grocery shopping and a lovely sneaky coffee in the sun (a princely £2) have been the treats. Not entirely in line with the Ultra Frugal Month Challenge I have just joined..but not entirely off beam.
Looking back at June..
Targets - not bad. Smashed the decluttering, achieved some sales, LSD targets and just missed the NSDs. AFDs was a disaster, but the last part of the month has been alcohol free. 4 days in a row and counting.
And...we hit the savings target. Its great news, although I am acutely aware that its because I pulled more money than I intended out of the company. So I do need to curb that in July and onwards otherwise I will have problems when it comes to tax payments time. But, credit where credit is due. We are trying as a family to be much more considered with what we spend.
Positives from June:
£321 on groceries for 4. Pretty darn good for us. We put money into the pension and ISA as well and paid off a CC which had a long standing outstanding amount on it.. we have also paid upfront for a few things for the big holiday at Christmas such as car hire and some accommodation although one stay was entirely free using Avios points. Still very pleased about that
Negatives from June:
Lots and lots of 'annual' costs - birthdays, car insurance, vehicle MOT/repairs, those costs were a huge 5 times more than the same categories in May. Blimey. Alcohol was a large amount, though we still have most of it. There were also big spends on eating out (birthdays and family get togethers), school trips, everyone had haircuts...they all mount up
So..plan for next month is to do the Mrs Frugalwoods Ultra Frugal Month..really thinking about the homework...and exercise loads. Sleep well and eat well too. Simple goals but tough ones
Thanks for getting to the end of a very long post...its always appreciated
Onwards and upwards. Off to update the targets on the signature
Love and hugs

Another very very loooong day, but heading home now and planning to do an exercise class..PF you up for that?? (Will pop over to yours and ask politely:rotfl:) Then up to a friend's for a catch up.
Just need to sleep today and not drink. Need to start posting some more items on EBay too. Also need to plan as the students start arriving - so maybe some batch cooking and meal planning is in order.
Will breathe and then assess the YNAB results. See how we did. It feels more spendy than May, but we shall see.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Definitely up for that Brizzle sounds like you've had a lovely day today too. Managed a 5k run yesterday so 11.5 in two days us progress indeed. My Fitbit also telling me I've been active all 7 days this week :T and my highest excerise in minutes since I began using it. However, I'm conscious I've not been at work all week and busy doing things which has added to this activity, need to think about how to up it in when working. Only managed a long walk with friend today but at least lots of steps.
Good news on the June progress, including the grocery spend. :T I still haven't got my head round price increases in recent years on food I think and still a bit in denial that I should be at £250 easily. In reality, it's never going to happen and I just need to do my best each month and at least be mindful of it if nothing else.
Sorry for waffling on your diary :rotfl:;)0 -
Hey PF!! Good to see you  - sorry never got across. Will rectify tomorrow! Exercise sounds good. Today was 14k steps but no classes. One tomorrow though - so that'll be two in 3 days. Knowing you are doing it too does really help so thanks.
Best get to sleep - never get enough. But house tidy and room ready for first students so that's good. Girls also made me watch Love Island - some was quite amusing but vast majority was so so cringy. An hour of my life I will never get back but we did laugh :rotfl: which is always nice.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Well done Brizzle
I always get a rush of motivation when I read your posts
I was toying with the ultra frugal July for everything other than the house refurb spends, there's no need for me to buy anything other than house stuff - might tailor it to suit. Here's to a fab July!

Thanks everyone
Feeling absurdly chipper given that OH is away, I am in a horrendous slog of a time at work, getting far too little sleep, lots of travelling etc etc. And I am now wondering if my energy levels are even better (to be fair I am usually a Duracell bunny - you know the line if you need something done give it to a busy woman..) from more conscious exercise, more conscious eating and no alcohol. Fascinating. So planning to keep this up and see where it takes me..
And a NSD yesterday. Whoop. Planning for one today too. Going to try and do a class after work as well.
Hope everyone is well and chirpy. XxMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

I am literally buzzing with energy when I'm busy, I get much more done, so know what you mean. When I'm not busy, I'm more likely to pour myself a glass of wine - not at work though - although it might make the day go more smoothly LOLI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Definitely know what you mean on the busy thing. Busy day today, ending with 6k and hm risotto :T did you get a class in?0

Hello lovely peeps! Thanks for dropping by. Well done on the 6k, I wish I was running at the moment.. Miss it
I did PF, I did. Still haven't showered:eek: as got home (luckily DD1 had done everyone dinner) ate then helped with homework, sorted some other school stuff and now it's past 10. Ridiculous. Today was a good day but unfortunately not a NSD as I bought groceries for tomorrow and Thursday eve .. ho hum. Can't be helped. Also did a TT of a princely sum of £4.22
and a mortgage OP of £100.
Right, best off to recharge in advance of another 'Light Brigade style' charge tomorrow :rotfl: ... good job I love it :rotfl:MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
