  • Hi Brizzle, not sure how far Ronda is from where you'll be but it is seriously beautiful. Well worth a visit :)

Have a fab time, lounging with a book sounds a good plan too.

    Best wishes Tilly xx

I do love a good fly and flop holiday :)

We've never had problems with mosquitos in Costa del Sol but we've only ever been in February and April, so can't vouch for high summer.

If you get the chance Puerto Banus is fabulous and you might spot the odd celeb (or their yacht!).

SA, it's recommended sun screen application every two hours if you are in and out of water. :) Especially since (I'm assuming) you do not have a tan base already>>because your summer has been cool and wet? You probably know this but as a desert rat, I'm hypervigilent about skin cancer. [STRIKE]Bossing around[/STRIKE] looking out for my MSE friends. :j

Fly and Flop - Love that phrase:rotfl: new one to me too!

Highly recommend Granada and Ronda too. Took me two trips to Granada get to see the Alhambra - first time DD was a teenie tot and had a tantrum so DH went in to the palaces by himself whilst I waited outside with her and fed the birdies :( 2nd time went with two teens who just wanted to Fly and Flop by the pool and grumped constantly about having to go see some old palaces in pretty gardens :rotfl: One day I shall get my own back at them, perhaps refuse to babysit grandchildren when they want to do their bucket list!:rotfl:

Kids also hated me for plastering them with factor 50 and making them wear T-shirts in the pool/beach:rotfl:

I actually went on holiday with a base tan thanks to a couple of decent weekends prior to the recent cool damp spell. Luckily I have a light olive skin tone so tan easily and don't burn. Mr SA always says someone only has to mention the sun is out somewhere in the world and I get a tan :) Mosquitos don't usually bite me but one year we went to Corfu in October, they hadn't sprayed the island and I had 41 bites on my legs alone! Even the locals were covered in bites. I literally felt lousy, it was awful and has put me off Corfu even though it was lovely.
