YAAAAAAAAAAAY
ITS DONE!!:D:D
THE BRIZZLE HOUSEHOLD IS OFFICIALLY DEBT FREE:j:j:T:T (well apart from the mortgage and thats next!)
i have just made the final transfer into the MBNA card and made a TT into the long term savings account. The mortgage OP payment goes out tomorrow. I have set up a saving account pot for repairs which should have £400 in it by tomorrow (windows must be paid for!) and £400 also in another pot I have called O&S (odds and s@ds) which is for things like weddings we have been invited to this summer. So, this means that at long last we will have something other than a credit card to fall back onto (and that wasn't really a safety net was it..even my language/the phraseology there shows you how credit cards are viewed and in fact they shouldn't be!)
I feel light, conscious and happy
What a journey though. As my diary title suggests I knew I had to change my relationship with money around 10 years ago..but the LBM flickered on and off like a stupid thing as I still expected someone other than me to rescue me from my debts and over spending (hilarious now to wonder who I thought that might be as I don't pay the Lottery!:rotfl:) and so the paying off unsecured debt by remortgaging continued...:o It was on 3 June 2013 when OH 'found out' (at least I think that was the date) that the seismic shift happened. We started working together on it and made some hard decisions. At our worst in 2013 we owed around £25k...:o:o:o:eek: makes me feel totally sick now.
Anyway, finally, THANK YOU all you amazing guys and gals who have supported me, nudged me, told me off:p along the way. The Brizzle household owes you a huge debt of gratitude and we can't thank you all enough... cliche maybe, but we couldn't have done it, and wouldn't have known where to start without you all
Huge hugs and I hope you have amazing days todayMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
