i have sold an item on ebay and they have payed... however they would like another item that i am selling (this item has 4 watchers) now they have asked if i will sell them this too (brought for £5 on for 99p) and then they pay through paypal and i send them together... if it was anyone else i would say no but the said person posts on a forum i also post on and have done me a huge favour a while ago... what would you do? let the auction run or sell to this lady and risk the shortfall (btw this item is selling for about £8 at present ~ its a rareish item on ebay especially in the condition i have it in)... i have a gut reaction but would like comments please :)

*i have been buying and selling on ebay for 2 years and have feedback of 300+*

Eh? If it's already on £8 then why accept £4?

allways good to do other people a favour, but if you start to run a business lik that, you will never make any money.

So this item you have on ebay, is currently going for £8 and this person has done you a favour, so you are willing to sell it for half the price of £4.

  • you could ask her to bid on the other item and make it clear that if she wins she won't have to pay postage for that item. As everyone else would face the postage cost, they are likely to be priced out (the person is likely to bid a higher amount in the knowledge that they won't have to pay for postage). Then perhaps deduct a token amount to 'reward' the buyer. That way, you're likely to get more or less the amount you would have got anyway for the item and you only have to deal with one buyer and one address. Make sure the delivery charge accurately reflects the actual cost of postage though as if it is inflated, you'd lose money as the postage amount would be deductable from the winning bid.

because i brought it on play for £4.99 but got cashback on it through quidco and its used... also the majority are going for £5-£9 the average (popular end price) being £7.99 (£8)

I don't understand why if the bidding is already at £8.00 you would end the auction and accept £4 - I'm sure even the person asking you for this item wouldn't expect you to do that.

    Have I completely misunderstood?

    Look like everyone has misunderstood.

What are are you actually saying OP. Is the price for item at £8 allready? Yes or No.

If it is why sell for half the price.

    I think...

lady friend wants to buy the item, for around £4. This item NORMALLY sells for around £8 on ebay.

Should OP let the listing run, or sell early to lady friend?
