Travel Insurance with high cancellation cover

Hi,

I am looking for travel insurance for our honeymoon this summer. The overall trip is costing nearly £6000 and therefore I have noticed that many policies only boast up to £5000 cancellation cover.

Does anyone know of any companies that offer policies with a high cancellation cover?

We have booked through Thomson and had a good read through their insurance policy booklet in the shop only to find that their cancellation cover didn't meet the cost of our holiday!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Is that £6000 excluding extras? Or the basic package holiday price?

What do you mean by extras? Such as room upgrades etc? We have added on a few bit such as premium seats and room upgrade so that has pushed the price up.

I was thinking if the whole of the £6000 was non refundable.

Perhaps see if Kuoni offer a policy.

Look at the policy carefully - it MAY be £5000 per person

If not, I'm sure it's possible to find something by shopping around. Certainly tour companies who offer high end holidays offer insurance for them.

American Express Annual Prestige insurance provides up to £12,500 cancellation cover. Not going to be cheap though.

Most policies quote the limits per person so worth checking this.
