Firstly they are PIP implants, not PPI implants.
And secondly no one wants the NHS to foot the bill, what the women want are the government to back the women legally and force the surgeries (such as transform, harley, medicare and MYA clinic) to remove the implants without further cost to the women.
If you bought a 60" plasma tv and the screen leaked a few months after you paid £3k for it, you would want it replaced by the company you bought it from wouldn't you?
The only way the NHS should touch a PIP implant is if they fitted the implant via reconstruction.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

i know if the private clinics dont pay in the end it will be nhs who pay because no one knows the long term side effects of these implants, so the nhs removing them could save alot of money in the long run, i dont have a problem with the nhs paying i mean they pay for junkies & alcoholics, i came on here to ask if you could kindly support the ladies & sign this petition, obviously you have all posted your comments but have not even bothered to look at the petition because if you had you would have realised it doesnt mention the nhs.
this is what the petition says
PIP breast implants - help for all victims in Britain
Responsible department: Department of Health
We the undersigned ask that the Prime Minister properly investigates and acknowledges the damage to health, both existing and potential, to all women in Britain affected by the fraudulent manufacture of PIP Breast Implants. We also ask that the cosmetic surgeons responsible for implanting these faulty devices bear the responsibility and cost of removing and replacing these implants for all affected women.
im sure your replies would have been alot different if you had bothered reading this or even spent 10 secs looking at it, i thought this forum was all about supporting each other obviously not, if any of you bother to offer your support & sign the petition, thanks to you all, if not no worries i will not be posting on this website again as im very upset with some of the replys0 -

I also have the PIP implants from The Harley Medical Group

Harly Medical advised me to book a scan through my GP. I called my GP and they advised me they have received a letter from the Government that says if women went private it is up to the private clinics to arrange scans etc - i think its appalling they expect to palm us off onto the NHS when we have paid thousands of pounds to go private!
So i called back Harley Medical to be told they don't have the facilities and to wait for a letter :mad:0
