Hi, im quiet concerned after seeing the breast implants that have been on the news recently, the PPI ones that are apparently made from silicone which is used for industrial items such as mattresses & computers, i had breast implants in 2009 by harley medical, i have rang them & been told they stopped using PPI back in 2007, after doing abit of research on the internet i dont think they are being totally honest, im very worried & would like to hear of other peoples experiences with breast implants, thanks for reading, any shared experiences much appreciated, happy new year xx

Sorry, I know very little about implants, it must be a very worrying time for you right now.
However, when you had the implants did they give you any paperwork with the serial numbers on or can you get these from your records so you can trace if they're these leaky ones?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

i have looked at the peperwork & they are the faulty ones they were done in october 2009, harley medical were aware at the time of the issues that had been raised but still continued to use them till earlly april 2010.0 -
Only think I can suggest is visit you gp and take all paperwork with you.0

thanks for your support0 -
Hmm, have you really had implants yourself or have you just got an agenda about who's footing the bill for this? This isn't your first post on the matter."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

i really have the implants i mean why would i lie?, my agenda with who foots the bill is the fact that i paid harley medical group £4250 & at the time they told these were the best it has now come to light that there surgeons were complaining to them about the quality of the ppi implants but they chose to ignore, they were not the best on the market they were the most cost effective, so i yes ofcourse i have an issue of who foots the bills why should private clinics get away with what they have done obviously if they dont take there responsibility then it will be the nhs who pays for it i dont have a problem with as they pay for junkies & alcoholics, i just do not want to see the private clinics walking away from this, they mis sold a product & then didnt have the decency to write to clients & tell them the product was not fit for human use0 -
If you want these implants removed, wouldn't you rather have a chance of that on the NHS than having to rely on a private company who, by your own admission, has lied to you? I know who I'd trust. Seems utterly perverse to try to campaign against the NHS fixing this when it's probably your best hope of a successful removal.

I disagree with the NHS having to pay to put this right actually. I don't see why the NHS should pay to fix it, either the private companies should pay to fix it or the individual themselves should pay for it in my opinion.0

And many would agree with you. I just find it very odd (and suspicious) that someone who finds herself in this position would bother posting multiple posts on the internet trying to drum up support against something that might be their only chance of a happy resolution.
It's one thing sucking it up and accepting that you're responsible yourself and will have to foot the bill, and other thing entirely to launch a campaign!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
