To cut a long story short - 02 have cut me off my contract phone as my bill hasnt yet been paid due to a very expenside Christmas.

Until I have completely cleared the bill I wanted to put a new PAYG sim in it but on having done this is says enter PUK Code. I have no idea what this would be or do I need to register the SIM? Anyone help? Thanks!!

Sounds like it's a different network sim card.

PUK codes are normally what you need if you lock out your PIN from putting the wrong code in too many times. You need to get that for the new sim card.

If you mean a subsidy / Network unlock code you need to talk to O2.

You could try using a O2 PAYG card that should work without any issue in the handset.

You'll have to contact your network for that. When you enter your PIN number too many times incorrectly, it will ask for the PUK code and you'll have to clear security questions with the network to unblock it.

As MissKeith says Yes, but the PUK is unique to the SIM not the phone.
