    gingababe,

You obviously have the higher shipping costs & you also have the chance of Customs stopping the parcel to add charges & VAT. I have quoted a piece from H M Revenue's website on both pg 25 & on (I think) pg 28 about Customs duties. I will paste it again. If value is higher than £18 then it may be stopped. They don't seem to charge every parcel as I'm not sure they have time but it is random so you get yours done.

I have made 4 orders from Taylors & bought several times from the US & Singapore elsewhere. So far I've only been charged £36.50 taxes/duty on 1 parcel (which had a high value as there were 8 pairs of shoes & that includes the parcel force charge as they paid Customs and I then paid them upon delivery).

Any goods purchased from outside the EC are liable for duty and in some cases VAT. If you have been sent a gift and the value is under £36 you will not be liable, over that amount you will be charged depending on the product. For purchases bought by yourself with a value over £18 you may have to pay duty depending on the product; it may also be liable to VAT. Under that amount you will not be liable.

Since it's not a gift but a purchase the allowable value is £18. It's just pot luck with the charges. I don't think they have time to do every single parcel...

My local next have them, as do the disney store. I've not bought any yet. I saw loads of people wearing them when I was in florida, they do look comfortable so I might join the croc party this week.

Mary Janes have arrived from Taylors within the week, no customs to pay - phew, but they are at the sorting office and cant get them till Tuesday...ugh! I cannot remember the last time I was so excited about receiving a parcel.

Going off the Crocs subject for a mo - maybe someone out there can help me with this. Want to replace my Nike tennis shoes. I like the ones I have but in UK have to buy this years version of the Air Max Breathe Free 3. I can get last years Breathe Free 2 in the US. Anyone out there used a US sports site or can recommend a major sports store where I might be able to buy online?
    Thanks
