Hi all,
Just want an opinion from people.
Mesh went into admin in 2011.
However, its still trading and appears to have some good offers on.
Should I buy from Mesh computers? Are the new owners highly rated? I haven't seen their PCs win awards recently.
Thanks,
AMO

I buy from this place have always been happy with their service and they have a forum too in case you need any advice on systems.

DO NOT - i bought a Mesh computer several years ago and while it undoubtedly worked well for a while when it went wrong the truth is their service was abysmal, took me 5 phone calls to get them to tell me how to perform a system restore, when it went kooky last year (out of the 3 year warranty) the swines wanted to charge me £250 for them to reinstall windows using my own discs despite knowing at that time the trouble they must have been in. (they went into administration the next week) Avoid like the plague, i used to speak highly of them until issues started with it 2 years post purchase, but true colours always show when things go wrong.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

Thanks all. But has anyone bought any system recently?
I want to know whether the new company is okay.
They seem to have great deals on at the moment.
Thanks.0 -
i havent bought, i do know someone who spent around £900 on a system from, and ended up having to claim through there credit card to get there money back. Granted it was when they went into admin. They may be ok now, but if pay by credit card, you will be covered should anything go wrong. Or you could try shopping around.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

There are many unhappy previous customers

Why buy from a company in administration, when there are so many other options available?0 -
To be perfectly honest, the deals do not seem that great. Their barebones PCs start at around £350, and for that money you should be able to pick up a complete package from a reputable manufacturer - Acer, HP, which would include monitor, keyboard and speakers, as well as having a warranty and access to support.0

post up your budget/reqirements and the machine(s) you were looking at0

2) The Mesh Slayer 2700
http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTCONFIGPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=990622
Basically, for £1000 without a monitor, I think its feasible to get:
a) Core i7 processor
b) 64-Bit Windows
c) 8GB memory DDR3 (ideally as 2x4096) to leave 2 slots for further memory.
d) Fairly fast dedicated graphics card that hits the top quarter of the performance benchmark here:
AMD Radeon™ HD 6870 1GB DDR5 Graphics Card
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
e) Fast hard drive (ideally RAID 0 striped)

Honestly you are betting building your own off from scratch. Built a £900 machine about 6 years ago and it still works nicely (although I purely use it as a media server these days!).
If you want it pre-made I'd recommend ccl online (can't post links) search for that term. They are VERY good and very helpful .If you live in the area you can also pick it up.0 -
