Well done on getting a pension sorted (as soon as bump is actually here make sure they become a beneficiary especially if you and bump's mum are not married by then), and locking your on-line stuff is waaay too easy to do

Thanks, I already spoke to my financial advisor about that, will sort when bump arrives!
I was lazy and didn't pay Barclaycard, MUST do tonight, even tho the interest rate hike doesn't kick in til the 29th!
I was thinking about asking them about any 0% deals they might be able to give me, as I'm just about to buy a car and being relatively young and male insurance is a killer and even more so paying monthly- whats everyone's views on this??

Hiya James
Thanks so much for popping over to say hi i too shall subscribe and maybe take some hints as man are you doing well!!!
First off major congrats on the fatherhood soon situation its lovely to hear new life coming into the world thats wanted . So big cheers for you both,
You seem to be on board with everything you so which like others have said is great to hear at a young age.
Main thing i wanted to say was re your barclaycard.
I am with Halifax and they sent me a letter only last week to tell me the same on the basis of " you have been late with payments"... i hadnt!!
So i called them up and they fed me some rubbish etc etc anyway in the end i did not have to have my apr put from 25 to 29 and i did not have to cancel my card. It was a bit of a scam from them hoping people didnt read their letters too well and didn't think to question what they had said.
Maybe worth a try ringing Barclaycard up and saying you dont want the raise, you cant afford it but as you have not missed any payments and as you do not want to borrow more you are wanting to stay at the same rate, if not maybe look for a 0% balance transfer with someone else and make sure you get cashback for it too!
Many smiles to you x2025 Wins ::

Thanks for the congrats- it was quite a shock but a brilliant one! Just so much to do between now and August!
I really wish I'd got stuck into this sooner, ah well I had a good time with the money
!:o
Regarding my Barclaycard, I've only got approximately £370 remaining on it and I got paid yesterday, so tonight I'll be clearing it and either cancelling it or hopefully getting a 0% deal so I can get my car insurance on it and pay that off monthly at 0% interest, rather than paying the car insurance monthly and paying an extra £400-500 for the privilege! Hope that makes sense! But I'll make sure I get cashback on the car insurance:money:!
Thanks again for the advice and for stopping by!:D

Has anyone else stayed in tonight when all their friends are out in town and OH is at work?? I did and am boooooooorrrrrreeeeedddddd!:) Been doing some DIY and a bit of cleaning before bed and a film. On the plus side its another NSD for me and its snowing!!:)
Other good news is that OH has a lot of interest in her room in her shared house so it won't be too long before we can move in together!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Haha, love this!:D
Bad times on the break, having only ever broken toes I can't really imagine what breaking a major bone is like!
Hope you're back on your feet soon:D
Snow was fine, as long as it doesn't rain I'm happy!
Right so today's progress is paying off £402.41 from my Barclaycard, taking my balance to £0.00!!!!:j Feels awesome! Also sorted out my internet banking that I'd locked.
And the step back is that the NatWest CC that I HAD paid off now has -£3.44, this is from interest. I'd love to know how they've calculated this as I paid it off in December 11 days before that months interest was taken, they then took a further minimum payment and now this, an angry call is going to take place tonight, promptly followed by me cancelling the account and claiming back all charges that I can possibly get:D, I HATE NatWest!
Also tonight I will mostly be phoning Orange, eBaying and MusicMagpie-ing!
May have had some wheatabix this morning!lol :rotfl:

Been a while!
Well I've phoned up Natwest and closed the account, and guess what- the £3.44 was actually credit, so I've got a cheque on its way back to me!:)
I've had another couple of NSD over the weekend which is good and did 6hrs overtime on Saturday- which I'm going to try and do every Saturday..
Almost another step closer to sorting a house with the OH, we've hopefully got someone to move into her room, so hopefully we'll be into our own place by the end of March.
Got 57 items on eBay as well, got lots of bids and even more watchers, roll on Thursday night when they all end!
Right, off to cook a roast dinner as OH is on her way back from work!:)
