Hi I am thinking of buying a Samsung Galaxy W in the near future i've read some reviews and seen a comparison video on youtube between it and the galaxy s11 and although slower (single core processor) it is considerably cheaper @ £250 ish.
Does anyone have one,is it a good phone? my usage will be calls and internet browsing and hopefully it will work with my Jabra bt250v bluetooth?
any feedback appreciated

Sometimes it is worth having a handset that is not top of the range, it is a Samsung I would consider, most handsets are not dual core, can't remember what the processor speed is, (you can look just as I could) but it is certainly more than adequate for everyday phone use.0

I do like this phone but I just bought a Samsung Google Nexus S from Carphone Warehouse for £200. The Galaxy W is £210 from Pre Pay Mania so they are the same price basically. The Galaxy W has a 1.4Ghz processor so it is very quick. The Nexus S is a little older but I am delighted with mines (it is also getting Android 4.0 whereas the W is not). The Nexus S also has an Amoled screen which is so good! It has more storage too and a better Graphics Processing Unit but its processor is only 1Ghz. On CPUbenchmark, the W scores around 10% faster, but that didn't bother me as I wanted the Amoled screen and with Ice Cream Sandwich, the Nexus S could become quicker. Samsung have also just released the Galaxy Nexus, which is around £500, not to be confused with the previous Nexus S version.

And the Nexus S to buy:

I reckon they are going to sell out soon. I got the last one from my local store. I love it.0 -
Oh, there is also the Galaxy S Plus (I hate Samsung's naming system, so confusing). Which is basically the much newer version of the Galaxy S (the Galaxy S2 little brother, duh!). It was released in July 2011 so it is actually newer than the S2. It features the same processor as the Galaxy W and has an Amoled screen.

It is around £240 from Pre Pay Mania. It doesn't have a camera flash which is strange!
So I would definitely go for the Nexus S or the Galaxy S Plus. I like the Nexus S because its getting Android 4.0 and has a search touch button at the bottom.0 -

One of the things though , is some users don't want forever growing screen sizes, the W has a sensible screen size which is about near to maximum ideally.0 -
In my opinion, 4 inches is the best size, 4.3 is too big though.0

Many thanks for the replies that gives me food for thought,I called into a few phone shops today and had a try of the nexus s and galaxy w and was impressed by both, I do like the screen on the nexus but have read a few reviews saying that the video record is not as good as the galaxy w and people having problems with the phone freezing.
I think I could go for either of these phones, the galaxy s plus is out owing to lack of camera flash which I use a fair bit, prepaymania don't seem to have the best of reviews and prefering somewhere physical to take back to in case of problems am thinking of getting from carphone warehouse, the nexus is £200 and the galaxy w is £250 with them although only £180 + £15 top up in the 3 store on payg I wouldn't wish to use 3,(prefer sim free) so if I had it unlocked I guess I would void the warranty?
I'll do some more research and hope to buy in the next few days, thanks again.0 -
Yeh, not putting an led flash on the Galaxy S Plus was such a stupid move.
I think either the Nexus S or Galaxy W is a great choice. Now having had an AMOLED screen, I would never go back.0 -
The Galaxy W is a very good phone.
Not quite up with the S2 but good non the less.
Got both and like both.0 -
Galaxy SII wow.... I love mine.. Wish i had not upgraded from Android 2.3.3 which worked well to 2.3.5
which now seems to restart at random times.
One program failed to startup when it reset but an update has fixed that so not too much of a trouble.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
