3) You refuse to pay
If she is theatening bailiffs, then she really is full of excrement. She has NO power to do that at all.
I'm getting mad just thinking about this.
Hee hee halibut2209 I've gone from crying to getting really cross myself after reading your posts.
I'm angry at the fact the woman hasn't done anything except harass me when I asked for help and then expects £1500 in return!!
How do some people sleep at night? Erm just noticed it's 1am... perhaps I need to get some sleep, even though I probably won't sleep tonight with the worrying... I know I shouldn't but I probably will worry. I'm a worry wort!0 -
Oh no it's too late! She said that if I didn't email her to say I will phone her on Monday the 9th then everytime she chased me the bill would keep going up. So I wrote back and said I would speak with her on Monday... that's when she gets back from holiday.
I am scared if I ignore her this situation will get worse and I will owe her even more money.
I can't stop crying, what have I done?
You should get angry and tell her where to get off. It would probably help your depression to put her in her place. It is not going to help you one little bit to cower away why she ties you up more and more. If you don't stop her, she will have all your money away before too long. Now is the time to turn round and deal with her.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. WhittleMe, you've got some great advice here - about a subject of which I know nothing!!! However, listen to it, they are right, this woman is harassing you and you owe her NOTHING!DFW Nerd #1310

Seriously, "F off, sue me, see you in court" sums it up for me.
I would love to say that paddyrg, maybe I should! Currently I have 'ignore her' on my brain so won't say anything unless she does something to make my inner angry person come out...
BTW - as hypnotherapists and most alternative therapies are learnt over a course of weekend workshops, with incredibly low bars to entry (no applicant screening) and significant fees charged for *non-medical* (by definition) treatments of spurious efficacy, the field does attract more than its share of fruitcakes. Now, I actually believe hypnotherapy is probably one of the more useful of the bunch, but £500/hr is laughable. Remember, this is not a medical professional, which means they are only very loosely (at best, if at all) self-regulated, and have no medical training despite the fancy made-up initials after their names. I could direct you to a weekend workshop where you will walk away a stage hypnotist - effectively all the same skills, but for fun and effect as opposed to candles and whale music. That would be a couple of hundred notes to learn more or less the entire suite of skills this woman is valuing higher than a movie director, brain surgeon, prime minister, hooker, or paramedic. Because of the huge markups and low skills barrier, it attracts crooks and lazy wastrels who want to make money in a pseudomedicinal manner but don't want to do the work involved in real medical training. Or the self-deluded, and frankly slightly odd people who can't relate to the real world the rest of us function in.
Your last paragraph made me giggle, good grief I have gone through a roller coaster of emotions tonight!! From balling my eyes out to giggling! THANK YOU!
Saying all that I fell for someone who I thought cared about helping me now it's clear it was all about the money, nothing genuine about this person at all. I've learnt a lot today.0 -

Thank you welshgirl78!
Yes everyone on here has been amazing, I have learnt so much. I will listen to all this great advice.0 -
I hear you! But just remind yourself this is nothing to do with the law, this is entirely CIVIL which means is is the court settling a disagreement between two individuals, there can be no prisons etc., police don't care, no criminal records, no business of the employers etc. If it ever gets that far. Frankly she is sabre rattling, counting on your fear of the courts/law to bully cash from you. It happens a lot, people are naturally afraid of courts imagining they're only for criminals, but it is not the case at all. You could start a small claims court action against me in about 30 minutes, for £20 online. I would contest it, judge would side with me, you would look stupid and have modest costs to pay. It means really very little beyond inconvenience, but people read more into it than it really is. It is an invitation to stand before a referee to take sides.
Btw - from a hypnotherapy website I just found - very first page of google..." After successfully completing the weekend you will be certified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and will be qualified to run your own practice, full-time or part-time. This training meets the standards of the International Board of Clinical Practitioners and other boards, so your certification will have world-wide recognition.". Get that! A global certified clinical hypnotherapist in a single weekend, for $900. And we're talking 9-6 here. The idea that your time is worth £500/hr after a weekend or two is piffle. I wouldn't trust a plumber after a weekend course. You can just about get a forklift license in a weekend, but be somewhat inexperienced. As for letting some nutter with a weekend of experience into the workings of my mind and my hopes, dreams, vulnerabilities and expectations, let alone paying them...
I don't mean to sound down on the whole area, I do actually think hypnosis can be powerful if used on top of a skilled basis in a real theraputic relationship in a real psychotheraputic setting. I don't believe a weekend gives anyone the skills to be able to hold any vulnerable client well enough to be safe for that client.0 -

Thanks DVardysShadow, as will all the other posters you are right.
The thing is I am sbmissive but have not come across someone like her who took advantage, most people think of me as a softie but never take advantage. This person was definately NOT supposed to take advantage she was supposed to be be there to help me.
It is against my nature but I will put up a fight as she is really taking the mick out of me!0 -

Yes I had heard many great things about hypnosis hence trying to give it a go... backfired on me big time, totally chose the wrong person!! She cares so little she shouldn't be doing it.0 -
A big thank you to everyone who has posted and a huge thank you to the repeat posters you know who you are, I really appreciate all your help and superb advice.
I am off to bed now, will update you on what I find out from the consumer law side of things and if 'she' contacts me again.
Good night! x0 -
BTW, let me give you a bit of a head-start on losing weight. Why are you heavy? Look deeply at it, and be frank with yourself. Is it just the taste of certain foods? Or is it not knowing how to balance a meal? Snacking at work? Comfort eating? Suppressing emotions through food? Thyroid problem? Layers of protection? A virtual/psychological disguise? Been hurt as a child and subconsciously trying to hide inside so you can't be hurt again? Like a drink? Kebab shop en route from the pub to home? Work in a biscuit factory as a taster and can't bear waste? Lots of reasons, just touched on, but look at what your own reasons are, and look at how you can work with those reasons.
That may mean learning to cook, seeking someone to talk to, seeing the doctor, changing a routine, very different things depending on the reason in the first place. Someone can't magic it away if the underlying cause/problem is not addressed. For instance, recounting childhood traumas is not going to help (this issue) if you have a biomedical imbalance that can be controlled with diet. And avoiding the kebab house will not help if you are trying to eat up emotions that feel too big to explore when what you really need is a good cry and for someone to really listen to your sadness/hurt.
Get the underlying reason worked out, you can work out evasive action more clearly, and *then* a moderately priced hypnotist (£50/hr is plenty, if they are actually an experienced counsellor as well) may be able to see you for a few sessions to help anchor your new goals and reasoning.0
