Any chance of resurrection for a burnt Meyer saucepan

I normally use biological washing powder to rescue the (very occasionally!) burnt-on stainless steel pan - I just leave it to soak for a few hours with some water. However, since the OP has mentioned corrosion, I don't think much can be done other than a replacement.
It does depend on the degree of corrosion, whether there is pitting, or just a light surface rust. My guess is the latter, but reality beats a guess!Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
I recently watched Kim & Aggie clean a burnt stainless steel saucepan by putting cola in it and warming gently, whilst scrubbing with a washing up brush. It fetched it right off, and being a mild acid may tidy up the corrosion too, depending how bad it is.Shrinking my mortgage!

Just wanted to update with good news - Meyer have agreed to replace the pan under warranty, so completely worth getting in touch with them. I also said how I'd been so happy with their cookware (which is true!) so was surprised at this one going defective..:money:
An awesome MSE smile on my face, which now leaves me the money to buy new work shoes! :jI love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D
