Many thanks to the OP. I read that today was the last day so figured it was worth a shot (was hoping to get to the bigger store on Sunday that actually stocked the FCUK lipbalm thinking my locals would be too small for this promo).

Took me ages but I found a lonely shot bottle on the shelf but found a nice SA who managed to find a further 2 out back. Added in a Olbas inhaler thingymabob (advantage card promo for me was 75 points on any Olbas product). 3 shots, 3 Vit C, Olbas inhaler paid less than £1, saved almost £9! The kiddos were behaving nicely so decided to drive to the next town along and there, before my eyes, were at least 40 of the shots! I relieved them of 18 and managed 15 cheap vitamin pots, 4 slightly dearer ones and 2 tubes of pastilles plus 2 x 4pk of wipes. The total was a shade over £6 and a saving of £67. The SA said she'd never seen such a long receipt so sad I know but I measured it - 33" including a survey. I'm guessing my answers will be along the lines of "Yes, Boots are fab".

This offer is even better than you lot are saying! I did it a couple of times yesterday with 3vitamins/3shots and something else that cost about £2 (with the total bill each time coming to about £1.60), but then I got to wondering what would happen if I put through more shots - maybe it would try to give me 3for2 on them AND give them all to me for free?

So I tried with nine shots and nine pots of cheap vitamins (all they had). After I'd scanned through all nine shots and three of the vitamins, the total on the screen was something like -57p. That's about what I was expecting after putting through everything, so I scanned the last six vitamins. I also scanned a deodorant that was about £2, so that I'd have a positive total. Imagine my surprise when the total was still negative by about 70p! I can't really do the maths to explain that, but I wasn't going to argue.

Here's the great bit - I was wondering which impulse-buy item (chewing gum, Vaseline) to get, when the transaction ended. The machine said 'take change' and gave me the 70p. It actually paid me to take the stuff away. I packed it all up very quickly, it then came up with a system error that needed a member of staff, so one of the Boots people came over to look at it. I left rather quickly!

To summarise: it's still working, and try seeing what happens when you don't buy enough other items to make your total positive. It might just give you free money, as well as free stuff.

SA in Peterlee Boots wouldn't let it go through... i had got 6 vits at 79p each, 6 shots and some make-up wipes which should have been £3.20. When they were all scanned, it came to a total of 39p which she then queried and rescanned everything except the free shots (as they were free anyway she said...) and came to a total of £6ish :eek:

My sister went in later however and just bought more bits and pieces with her 6 vits/shots and it worked ok and wasn't queried as the total came to £8ish so I think it was just that my total was so low that they got suspicious...
