You won't actually be homeless in 2 months time. That is when they apply to the court for an eviction order if you don't move out. The council won't consider you homeless until the court evicts you.

By then of course the repossession may have started.

Did you tell the landlady about the visit?
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

You could have many months yet. As Angleasmommy said - it doesn't mean you HAVE to leave - merely that the landlord is advising you that they would like their house back. The landlady would have to wait until the 2 months is up, apply to the court (waiting time depends on the court), you could then ask for extra time etc. It should put you higher up the council list but you may have to sit tight for sometime yet as council's will prioritise those in greatest need - ie those who acutally have a date for bailiffs.
Do speak to the council though and get any paperwork completed if possible.

  • Because i moved out of the area i lived all my life only 8 months ago,the council where i lived when i made an appointment tryed to push me off to the council where im living at the moment,im only 4 miles away,

I stood my ground, reminding them i have a local connection,my mum,my sister and my husbands parents live there,my son attends the school there,im registered with them and the association on their waiting lists,i stood my ground as i will not be pushed to the council where i am no connection at all, rang shelter they said i can challenge this with their help

appointment is tomorrow at 11oclock,ive been so upset all day,to think i may have to wait for court procedings, not sure if my council will accept the section 21,they may do.sorry for keep asking for advice just not looking forward to going to the council tomorrow
