  • yes - you are quite right - I must stop surfing this board and start doing the letters etc!!!

I'll have some red bull & pro plus that should sort me out!

    I have to write to:
    Abbey
    Cahoot
    HSBC
    Black Horse finance
    Mint
    Barclays
    MBNA

Does anyone have experience of dealing with them? Are they sympathetic or hideous?

Only Mint and HSBC from that list.

No problems with HSBC, they just wanted to see the budget and have their share of a pro-rata payment

Mint are still dragging their feet, every other company has been sorted since mid January

just pay them the pro-rata payment, had the same dragging feet with MBNA so I just sent them the cheques each month, never had an answer from them yet and I'm 6 months in.

Ive seen Barclays mentioned here a lot, not had any problem with them, they have their own internal debt recovery unit for business debts and I got passed to them eventually, two phone calls in 6 months, no threatening letters and they just agreed to a 6 month extension on the payments, all they wanted as well was the budget sheet, not bad for the largest creditor by far - I wish the same could be said for some of the others.
BSC Member 44 - not bankrupt yet, but getting there...
  • Well after a week and a half of Abbey messing me around I'm not sure what I think about them. I found barclays easy to deal with. A lot of people have problems with MBNA.
    Barclaycard 3800

Nothing to do but hibernate till spring

  • Thanks - for the tips. This weekend I will make a start......it's not like I've got any money to go out with so it will keep me busy!
