Emergency - DMP rejected - help!!

Payplan are in their own way, trying to help you.
If you don't spend that much a month on food, great, put the money towards something you're not allowed an allowance for (your broadband perhaps?) or use it as an inflation buffer - here's an example: prices are going up all the time, your Council Tax WILL go up next month, so instead of having the hassle of having to go back to your creditors with a new DMP based on the new Council Tax figures, just use the money sitting in the buffer from what's left over the food bill.
You should always allow yourself a buffer for price increases, unexpected bills (car?), by doing it this way it's a lot, lot easier.
These allowances are Banking Industry trigger figures that the Bank is not allowed to question if below the figure, the Bank will quiet happily take your last penny from your bank account to pay their "charges" so why shouldn't you be able to return the favour?
I'm doing a self administered DMP cos Payplan couldn't help me with £70 left at the end of the month, at first it was a pain in the butt getting the banks to stop interest and charges, but now they've done that and I've made a few payments as offered, they don't hassle me now.BSC Member 44 - not bankrupt yet, but getting there...0 -
Stay strong, it is worth it, and you WILL get there.
There will be stumbling blocks along the way, but stay focussed and you will get over them.
Just think how good it will feel each time you beat one of those stumbling blocks.

We were rejected and told we had no choice but to go bankrupt. Now over a year on I have paid off nearly one third of my debt and will be debt free by 2009 at the latest. It can be hard going it alone but its worth it.Barclaycard 3800

I'd definitely try the CCCS first. They've been brilliant for me.
Even if they cannot help you with a DMP they will give you good advice on what to do next...
It is hard in the beggining, but you have done the hardest thing so far by realising you have a problem and looking for help. It does get easier, I promise

Try CCCS they are allowing me a DMP paying £20 a month at the moment knowing this will rise. Doing it yourself is possible but I found my creditors to be completley uncooprative and feel better with some back up."You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts" - Arthur Schlesinger

They have loads of sample letters, from asking creditors to stop interest payments, to asking them to accept a payment plan.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
oooh thankyou thankyou thankyou!! i've been scared of writing my own letter asking for help, but these templates give me good footing to go ahead and ask!0 -

Just a thought, but why dont you make the appointment, just in case?
You could always cancel it, if it's all going smoothly by then. If things arent going to plan, at least you will have a back up plan.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
