Hi,
Received a charge notice off these guys last week for overstaying(Payment £90, reduced to£50 etc). I didn't contest that the car was parked there for longer than the max allowed - but it was getting equipment fitted at the local Halfords which necessitated this. Provided evidence that I had been a Halfords customer and received a letter stating the charge had been cancelled. Now just received a 'Replacement Document' for the same stay (£75, reduced to£50 etc). Have queried by e-mail, but assume based on thred below that best action is No Action.
Why not have a shufty in in this forum - Many hundreds or even thousands of threads make it clear that ignoring these clowns is by far the best course of action.0 -

They must have sent out the wrong letter , they must have meant that the original charge had been cancelled, and a new one issued for double the valueSeriously though, don't appeal, don't correspond with them, and certainly don't pay anything to the scammers!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Complain to Halfords that you are being hounded for a debt which has been cancelled (if you have prove that the invoice got cancelled use that).
Hopefully Halfords might see sense and boot the PPC off their land0 -
I just love the way the money demanded keeps varying with the scammers. It starts at £50 (or is it £60). Then it goes to £100 or £120. Then it comes down to £80 if you pay within the time limit. Etc, etc.
But, if you are patient and are prepared to wait quietly without replying, it always comes down to the same figure.. £0.0 -
Isnt it about time all these PPCs were all rounded up and publicly FLOGGED along with the cretins at the DVLA for selling your private details on to the scammers, there was a good article in the PEOPLE yesterday 19/02/12 by Nick Derman and Kevin Sullivan DVLA SELLS YOUR DETAILS TO ROGUE CLAMPING FIRMS its well worth a read.PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0

Hi
Sorry if i have posted this in the wrong forum or thread but i am not very good at this.
I know this is a stupid question after all the forums and messages i have read, but i just would like to see the answer in print when refering to my situation.
I received a "Charge Notice" form Highview Parking, for parking in a supermarket car park over the advertised time limit (51mins over).
The photo's show my car entering and then leaving later.
The photo's do not show who was driving.
The photo's do not show the car actually parked, only entering and leaving.
I have now received a "Charge Notice Reminder" and as expected they want more money now, this has to be paid within 14 days or "an additional administration charge will be incurred", neither letter mentions court procedings, but i assume they would follow.
This is all "Operating in acordance with the British Parking Association's Code of Practice"
I often use that carpark to drop off my wife and then pick her up later without parking.
For all i know this may have been one of those times.
Do I ignore both letters??
Thanks in advance for any reply.

Although everybody believes their circumstances are a bit different, it matters not its still a con.
Just ignore them they will go away eventually!;)0 -
All these miserable crooks are members of the British Parking Association because it is the club they themselves have formed. It has as much legitimacy as the British Muggers' Association would have, and much the same objectives.
("Under the British Muggers' Association Code of Practice, I am perfectly entitled to point this pistol at you and demand you hand over your wallet, so please comply")
Sound much the same? And their chances of taking you to Court are about equal to that of the mugger.
An increasing number of people are realising that parking companies are simply SCAMMERS who rely on pointing a metaphorical pistol at you and telling you to hand over your cash; except that the pistol is a plastic fake and you can keep your cash in your pocket.
Be one of those people. Ignore everything they send you. They do their best to make that pistol look real, but... it isn't. If you ignore them they DO go away and look for someone who's easier to con.0 -
I got another last night in Warrington, unfortunately I can not tell you which company it was, or what it said as I rolled it up and booted it in the bin. GET IN THERE ! what a shot.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Your situation is the same as every other one on here. These fake PCNs are always a scam and the BPA is just a trade body for PPCs (old boys club) not a regulator.
Your fake PCN is the same type as the one held up by the Solicitor on the Watchdog clip in the top thread. Watch it now and see what he says you can do with one of these pieces of rubbish. Whether you over stayed or not is irrelevant, you were a customer so get angry about this harassment not worried about it!
To find the top thread ('PPC letters & threats') see my signature for where to click to view the current index. There's loads more than this thread and hopefully my signature helps newbies to find their way around any forum (always click on the 'breadcrumb trail' at the top to see more current, similar threads).
If you read the top thread and watch the Watchdog clip you will also see we have picture previews of all the threatograms. Then it's just a simple matter of playing snap with each template scamogram until they fizzle out.
Finally, once you are really calm about this and are collecting the scamograms, that's the time to write a very strong letter of complaint to the CEO of the Supermarket at the Head Office address, showing them photocopies of the threats you keep receiving just for the car driver/passenger (unnamed) daring to spend money at xxxx store. As a paying customer you feel very very angry about this intimidation - how dare they allow a third party to run a threatening protection racket in the car park? Do they feel proud of the sort of debt collector rubbish that is bombarding their customers in their name, as it is sent by their agents? Luckily you know that no private company can actually fine anyone but most of their elderly or vulnerable customers do not and to rip people off like this is astonishing and tarnishes 'supermarketname's' image. Do not ask them to cancel the fake PCN (it's not a real PCN) and do not try to explain your reasons for taking longer to shop that day, no excuses needed. You were a customer. Get angry about this harassment.
If you want to be really forceful you could even point out that harassment is a criminal offence (Ferguson -v- British Gas applies) and you could sue for damages from 'supermarket' and from Highview. If you think you may like to keep your options open for doing this then in fact you need to reply to Highview and the debt collectors they will use, not naming who was driving but saying that as the registered keeper of this car you consider their spurious demands and threatening letters to be harassment; the alleged debt is denied and not to contact you again. Do that each time if you want to leave the way clear to sue them.
If not minded to sue, then just ignore Highview and the debt collector and just COMPLAIN to the supermarket in due course with the copy threatograms as evidence of the harassment. You may get vouchers or at the very least, an apology one would hope.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
