Roughly 8 years ago my wife left us. I have three kids living with me. Don't know where she has moved to but she comes now and then to see the kids for a couple of hours.
I have no intention of remarrying so did not push for a divorce.
Was thinking should i get a divorce now?
If so i would prefer to do a D.I.Y divorce. Get forms from the magistrate court etc.
Just wondering what you would suggest. Financially i can not afford solicitors fees etc.

Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

In order to serve the papers you will need an address to serve them. DIY is all very well until it comes to assets and then the fighting could begin. Is there any danger of that?0

If she contributes nothing and hasn't for the last eight years, if you own a property, I'd be taking the stance that she gets nowt.0

A divorce would seem sensible in order to move on with your life....just not sure that a DIY version will be possible, esp if your wife drifts in and out of your life and you have no reliable way of contacting her.erm what r u trying to say?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I would say so, just so you tie things up legally - if you were to win the lottery tomorrow, presumably she could still try to claim her half as you're still married. OK, not that likely, but just an example.0

Do you rent or are you paying a mortgage? if a mortgage is it a joint tenancy or tenants in common?
Have you re-written your will in the last 8 years?
What is to stop you getting the divorce papers together and presenting them to her at her next visit? in front of a witness? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
