Do you rent or are you paying a mortgage? if a mortgage is it a joint tenancy or tenants in common?
Have you re-written your will in the last 8 years?
What is to stop you getting the divorce papers together and presenting them to her at her next visit? in front of a witness?
I bought the house before i met her. It is in my name and is mortgaged.
Had a will written 6 years ago leaving everything to my children.
Might follow you advice and present her the papers in front of a witness
ThanksProblem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems Well at least i learn something on the way Well at least i learn something on the way 0 0

The house is an asset of the marriage, so you need to get some legal advice on what she might be able to get by way of a settlement (if you are lucky, she will just let it happen). If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

With the house I would recommend that you get legal advice.
When I got divorced we both signed a document stating that we had no interest in eachother's financial affairs - I think it is important that you get this done.
Someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to give you more details as this is vital. Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0

Sorry....Unless this document was rubber stamped by the judge then your document is meaningless0

Not sure the law would see it that way unfortunately. Though personally as this guy has brought up 3 kids by himself with no financial and little emotional support that is how it should be.
Folks on here give lots of fab advice but the best thing you can do is find out where you do stand in the eyes of the law with regards to assets etc. Contact CAB if you cant afford a solicitor. They are a mine of info.
Would help if I could and dont want to seem like I am passing the buck but this sort of advice needs to be really sound or going for a divorce could open a whole new can of worms.0

Absolutely correct and could also potentially be overturned by the csa if there are kids involved.0
