I'm in charge of a class of children every day - would people expect to look round my bedroom as well?!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

When I was looking up ofsted reports on registered minders a few weeks ago, it listed the rooms that were to be used for childminding purposes, so usually the whole of the downstairs and the bathroom.Occassionally 1 bedroom but not the others, so I can understand a childminder refusing. Looking at it the other way round why would a childminder be showing a prospective client around a room that she's not registered to mind from?0

fannyannie, yes you can childmind in a flat. I live in a groundfloor flat with a garden and am currently doing my introduction course in childminding. AFAIK there is no actual requirement to have a garden as long as you are making provision for the children to have 'outdoor time' everyday.
With regards to viewing the rooms of the house, according to my course tutor Ofsted will want to see every room of the house.0
