Isn't it the most simple answer that the investigators followed the trail to her place of work and then contacted her employer to find out what sort of accounts she had with them.
Possibly. Its still worth finding out as if the OP really wants to get this removed from her name and cleared up that she wasn't involved she needs to track it back. Its also worth knowing so that you can explain to any potential new employer if and when this will come up in their pre employment checks.0
