Transferring overdraft to Credit Card?

I know I can transfer a credit card balance to a new credit card but can I do the same with an overdraft?

I am paying about £20 in overdraft charges and would like to apply with Barclay for their 0% credit card.

Already have an account (not overdrawn) with them and good credit rating in general, so assume that I would get the card with a reasonable credit limit.

Will Barclays let me transfer an overdraft to this card if you I do apply and get the card?

Nope, some cards let you transfer to a current account (MBNA/Virgin/AA) but I believe Barclaycard do not.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

You can with Virgin Credit Card I've just done it because of banks monthly fees. Hope this is some help.
  • Thank you all so much, wishfullthinking in particular for the Virgin Credit Card. I have just applied and been accepted! I feel relieved now that I can pay of my overdraft at no charges (well less the handling fee but still saving fees) and that I can pay my debts over 20 months even though I want to pay it off much faster than that.
  • We are waiting for compensation from Lloyds TSB. The letter early on in December said our cheque would be sent on receipt of our acceptance. Used the expensive Post Office registering of our acceptance letter. Stall stall stall. Having thought we would get this quickly, we spent more on Christmas than we would otherwise have done. Lloyds overdraft is now worrying.....but no money FROM Lloyds to pay it off! Something not right! Will we be eligible for a Virgin card with our overdraft? Probably not!
