hi, my boiler wont stay lit,
it takes around 10 mins to get the pilot light to stay stable (and even then it goes out after a minute) once the pilot light is on and i can take my fingger completely off the gas button, turn the stat up and light as usual it fires straight up but even on the highest setting blasting out it goes out after about 3 mins....:s and its freezing lol

It's usually the thermocouple on these.
If it is the 40B model, you can download the user manual from here:

We have a Gloworm but I suspect yours is older as you say it operates with a pilot light.
Last year we had a problem similar to yours, ie kept going out after a short period. The problem was located to the fan that extracts the fumes from the boiler. The fan was working but it wasn't rotating fast enough due to age I guess and therefore the fumes weren't being extracted fast enough and this caused the flames to be doused. The fan was replaced and all was well afterwards.
I'm not sure if your model has a fan in it, but anyway it's a suggestion worth looking into.0 -
I don't know the boiler but it could be a thermocouple.
(The bit that sits in the flame to tell the gas valve it is lit)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
probably the thermocouple has gone. I'm afraid you'll need a Gas Safe engineer to fix, but a thermocouple isn't an expensive bit.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
