Best colour to be seen in the fog!

I remember a family friend who drove a brown car in the 80's/90's. It looked like a turd on wheels but whatever floats your boat:D:rotfl:

I said very dark for that reason.

I mean I'd like a Jaguar XJC but not in Carriage Brown

I need to think of something new here...
  • My late Mum used to have a bright yellow Metro which she ran for about 10 years, and in all that time every motorist managed to avoid hitting her as she stood out so much.

However, when she gave up driving, it was a !!!!!! to sell.

It looks very 70's and more maroon than straight brown. I suppose most people dislike the colour and if you live near woods it would be covered in no time..maybe.
Yeah - Morocco Red is a deep maroon colour as opposed to a full on 70s purple. It was around for a couple of years in the early 90s then disappeared so I guess not popular. Ford had a colour called Cafe Brown a few years back but it didn't last; around the same time, Citroen did a dark brown and Volvo a deep maroon. Guess I just have wierd tastes.

I used to (when I drove white cars - variations on the Ford theme :o) feel somewhat reassured by the statistical information that white and yellow cars were - being more visible - less likely to be involved in collisions.

Yes, I drive a boring silver Passat (but I love it - and it doesn't show the dirt).

Your comment about statistics make me chuckle as it reminds of comments only a few years ago by a friend who said he wouldn't buy a red car as statistically they are more likely to be involved in accident. Well that was true as at the time red was the colour that was sold 5 times more than any other colour so if you have 5 times more on the road odds are the stats are going to go against it.

Same can be said about white and yellow as they haven't been that popular until recent times (unless you lived in essex and the done thing was a white XR3i lol).

Personally bright and bold colours only suit certain cars and only those that have a sporty-ish look about them. I love the orange focus RS but it looks stupid when put on a focus estate for example.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.
  • I didn't even know there was a fashion for white cars (never mind yellow!). For many years no one wanted white cars. We've recently bought a white car because it was the only one they had in that particular model, I had no idea white was trendy. Our other car is black so it's a monochrome driveway at our house.
