02 iPhone 4S deal

Just been onto 02 for a deal:

12 month contract
£27 per month
£275 for handset (iPhone 4S)

300 mins
500 text
500mb data
Unlimited wifi
20 picture texts
(think have 02 to 02 free as well but will double check)

Only you can decide if it's good, some do not want to pay anything upfront for a handset, een if in the long run the overall cost is lower, however a quick head calc suggests £599 which is not too different from the handset cost plus sim only deal?

Not bad. Assuming that the airtime costs £8 (ignoring wifi etc), you pay 275+12*19=503 for the handset that costs 499 from Apple.

I am one of those people that does not like to pay for a handset however all the good handsets require a cost now.

Seems not to bad £599, the deals on this website are £619 or £630 and higher upfront cost.

Just have a really good think and a google "is 500mb data enough for me".....

It certainly wasn't for me on a iphone4 and I did a lot ofdigging that suggested probably it was only work email/calendar sync that was pushing the data up and it wasn't huge amounts of that....

lots of folk on here have found iphone 4/4s data hungry and also on a parenting forum i use. i'd not go for capped data now if i could avoid it- I've used 854.8 mb in 13-14days (on giffgaff now - just swapped) and that is being on Wifi at home over the holidays but using it for a 30min TV episode to check it would stream.

Asked the guy about this on the phone and he said 500mb should be enough. would have liked the 1gb tried to get them to give me that on the above tariff but said no would be £31 with 1gb.

He said i should get a text at 400mb and cant go over the 500mb.

£500 for a mobile handset that you will be fed up with in 12 months' time ???????????? That's more than a decent laptop.
