iPhone 3GS: Can't have custome sliders since 5.0.1 update. WHY? & recommended fonts?

I had a jailbroken 4.0.1 running fine. Figured i'd update to 5.0.1
Everything is as it was. I had to re-jailbreak, re-download Cydia, Installous (& then all the apps i'd obtained through installous) & Winterboard, re-do all my settings.
For e.g. I've got my duracell charging battery back for when i charge the iPhone.
One annoying thing that isn't working is the custom slider. Instead of the grey block for "slide-to-unlock" i had a Man Utd badge.
So i re-downloaded this, saw it in Winterboard, resprung & went to test it out .......... not working.
I figured it was maybe a problem with the Man Utd slider, so i tested it out with other sliders. They don't work either.
WHY?
Secondly:
Can anyone recommend a font for use with the text messages?
I downloaded BytaFont & tried out a fair few fonts, and they look 'stylish' i guess:
Action MAn
Burst my Bubble
Cartoon
DroidLogo
Hattori Hanzo
I hate comic sans
Walt Disney
Are all fonts i downloaded & while they work ok with the clock & keyboard for e.g.
They're just a pile of crap for the actual text messages themselves (unclear, hard to read etc. I want something clear like the standard font, but not the standard font).

I'm not an iPhone owner, but I'm not sure the OP has referred to any pirated apps?

'Installous' is used for pirated apps. Which the OP has stated he has.
Anyway I dont really care. People should be allowed to install whatever they want on there phones its their property.0 -
