Can I cancel my British Gas contract?
Comments
-
Hi
I signed up over the phone for a British Gas dual fuel contract till 2014. in Dec 11..I was sent post that gave me 7 days cooling off but due to family illness, this date has long since passed. I am due to have my supply taken over on 11/1 (Gas) and 20/1(Elec) and have changed my mind about going over to BG. Do I have any rights in wanting to cancel? All advice gratefully received.
thanks
Jan
The simple answer is yes you can cancel, however there maybe an exit penalty depending on the tariff you signed up to, family illness is not really a valid exit clause , you will have to runyour scenario past BG.0
