greenwellies, can i ask which model bissel you had and which vax you have now?
I had the bissel proheat, it cost about £300
I now have the vax dual-v
Both heat the water, but I think the heating element on the bissel would clog up with scale, and this may have been the cause of the problem. Unfortunately as the bissel was only used a few times, maybe twice before the g'tee expired, I could never claim on it. At least with the vax I have peace of mind with the 6 year guarantee.

One thing to bear in mind is the cost of the vax solution for the dual v is about £16 a bottle, although I search for best deals when I buy it.

Does the hand tool with the spinning brushes spray water/solution too or is it just a brush that sucks up the spill?

It sprays too. I used that tool for the 1st time this week to spot clean a couple of marks (cream carpet) and I was really surprised as to how effective it was, the bissel one only has brush bar.

ah great, thanks for letting me know. i couldnt see anywhere where they said it sprays too, but as it does ill prob try the vax one over a bissell i was looking at as its a lot cheaper for a similar spec.
