Can't sleep, grrr.....but am having a fabulous weekend. OH is here and it's lovely to be able to just "be" together, chilling out, cuddling, nattering, playing games with DD, and just basking in his company. It's been ages, well over a week! (long time in my book).
Saturday was a spend day, but not sure if today will be....hoping not as my £35 has probably been spent (OH is going to pay me back for some of yesterday's stuff) and it's only half way through the month!0 -
Going for no spend day number 10 today, it's cold but sunny, and now we're back from church, DD and I are watching The Borrowers and then going to finish off her homework. Wish me luck! Not sure how happy she'll be to do the homework as it's been a bit of a struggle so far....0

Yay, managed the NSD but not the homework....oh well, tomorrow's another day! I'm now up to 10 which was my original target for the month, but I increased it to 15.
I dug out a YS packet of pastry and made the most amazing made up as I went along mini veggie cornish pasties. They are so good, I had to sample one or two for my 'pudding', having deliberately had a small portion of DD's scrumptious pasta bake that she made with me as sous chef. The rest are going to go in the freezer to be pulled out for packed lunches when I don't have any salad stuff made up. I'm determined to not buy lwork unches this year (or at least this month!)
A really kind lady gave us a keyboard and stand on freegle tonight, I don't have anywhere to put it at the moment as the house is still a bit of a tip *sigh*. I did so much decluttering yet it looks almost as bad as it did before!!! It's a real pain in the rump
I really don't know how I'm going to cope when we're in a 2-bed bungalow rather than our 3-bed house, so no cupboard under the stairs!
I'm feeling so happy today it's not true
Actually, I've been like it since Friday when I picked OH up, he's back home now but over again tomorrow night to babysit for me, yippee! 0 -
NSD today and hopefully again tomorrow0

No NSD today

Bought a voucher on Groupon for my next MOT, £26 rather than £54 or something, so very happy with that!
Saw OH for a little while this afternoon which was lovely but I'm a bit sad that he's not staying over tonight, as he always feels a bit rubbish after going to the physio, so now with different things going on, we won't see each other until next week

Another NSD - now up to 13, phew!
Got rid of the piano tonight to a lovely man who wants it for his daughter's guide hut, which is great -and also he is a removal man my house is still intact
Thankfully I'm able to split the cost of DD's guitar lessons into half terms, so I might just squeeze to the end of the month without having to dip too far into the 'savings' pots. Fingers and toes crossed.
Plans for the rest of the month:
* lose weight!
* have a few more NSDs
* tidy up a bit (I was a tad embarrassed when the chap came for the piano!)
* break open the Italian language course I want to study
but first I'm going to have a relatively early night, tomorrow is another day and all that!0 -
Feeling a bit bleugh today
Was supposed to be actually going out on a 'date' with OH this afternoon to the cinema but.......and those of you who've 'known' me for the past year, will guess correctly that he's feeling ill today, so we're not going out. That in itself isn't making me bleugh, it's the fact that I've had to presume that he's ill and text him to let him off the hook as it were, as apart from his early morning text, he didn't get in touch, until it was to reply to that message I sent after lunch.
Oh well, at least today will be a NSD as a consequence!
My Amazon money came in from selling a book so that's £8.07 to add to the savings pot (probably next week just in case I need to spend it before payday!).
Hoping that my house buyers will be satisfied tomorrow after they send their surveyor out again to check on what I still think will turn out to be a non-existent problem. The estate agent is coming over as well, and apparently I'm to have a "good hosepipe" ready. Lawd knows what that is, but hopefully my pipe will be ok for his purposes!0 -
Oh heck, the buyers aren't satisfied so I need to get someone out to look at the still not quite sure its a problem situation! Don't want this to fall through as I want the bungalow but it does feel like these buyers are just being a PITA because they can!
Had a great night out with OH last night to see his brother in law's band play, DD went for a sleepover and OH paid for our cokes, so it 'cost' me a bottle wine for my friend which I had in the cupboard.
By some jiggery pokery I seem to be nearly at the end of the month with a few pounds left. I admit though, I had put £200 into 'savings' and took £100 back as I realised that it was a bit daft and I wasn't as 'rich' as I thought I was. According to my new calculations I'll have about £24 left by payday on Tuesday, o blessed day!!
Having had a look at the freezer, I really have got to stop going supermarket shopping, and only buy fruit, veg, bread and milk in February. Hmm, that sounds familiar.........wonder how long I can do it for this time!?!
I've managed 17 no spend days in January so far, however, tomorrow will be a spend day as I need to pick up a prescription and may use the opportunity of having a spend day to buy some hair dye from Wilko's as I look like a badger again!
I'm going to go for another 15 NSDs in February I think, but wonder if 20 would be a better challenge?!?!
DD has a friend over for tea and a play, they've been outside, have counted the friend's precious collection of stones and shells, and are now creating mayhem in the sitting room whilst I cook dinner. I don't think I want to go in and see what they're up to, better to leave them to it

Going to put off getting my prescription until tomorrow as I've got a day left of the tablets, and have Tuesday as a spend day as I need to pay DD's Rainbows subscription then. Today will/should be a NSD as a consequence (I can stay looking ropey with my hair for a while longer, it's lucky OH has bad eyesight as he knows I'm beautiful no matter what colour my hair is
)
Sitting here procrastinating....*sigh* I'm very good at it, but really should get on with 'stuff'0 -
Hoorah, payday!! Managed to get through January without (just) going overdrawn
I've done my usual payday money transfers into the house/car/dance lessons etc accounts and already my bank account looks a bit sad, but at least once the money's accounted for it's harder to spend......
However, I've been a bit carp and didn't make myself a packed lunch today as I felt a bit rebellious and like I 'deserve' a bought lunch. What a plum! Now I'm in the office I realise what a wally I've been as bought lunches are never as nice as ones from home (I don't work in London with lovely soup / salad / sushi etc type places around, just dull overpriced soggy sandwiches here!).0
