My Sony KDL40W2000 - fault?

This TV is about 4 years old. I find it tricky to describe the problem I think I am seeing! Here goes!
I have noticed recently when dark/black scenes are displayed a reddish greenish shimmer within the black areas of the scene.
Does anyone know if this is a fault the TV is developing or is it the way TV is broadcast. It seems more noticable in period drama such as Great Expectations that was on the BBC this week.
When a normal day light scene is showing, I cannot find any fault.
NB I have just looked on Google and there are issues with 'mura'. I can't find a definition for mura!

Do we assume that you are using its integral Freeview Standard Definition tuner or are you feeding it from an external source? If the latter, please describe in detail.
Most TVs have trouble displaying true black levels. You may be able to improve it by altering the settings.0 -
