Thanks, I will ask her bank if my printer doesnt work on her laptop. I am not sure i have a driver to it these days.
Or she will have to access them on my laptop/printer here.
Today I have a lot of little bits to do. Some of the sewing needs sorting and my parents need a visit before they go or I will be in thier bad books.
Biggest of Mooloo has just told me that Asda have Cancelled our order!! of xmas presents. They have had the money since the 25th November and the goods were to be collected at MK. When we went the other week they were not all there, and now its all cancelled. She is livid. I am resigned to knowing that the world is just not going my way at the moment. So we will have to go and shop now.
annoying but not the end of the world. Its now waiting for the money to be returned to us!. (Me it was ordered on my bank card).

Twin1 has her bus pass and is planning to go into town today, and I am not thrilled as she has not got her carer with her. The woman is off again. They havent introduced a back up carer to her so nobody is going to help her. Am I surprised. Nope I am not.
I feel as if I am sitting in that bubble loooking out at the life and thinking,.... its not real is it.
Time to go. Molly's daughter has taken little one to school for me, but I have a coffee morning to get ready for too.

There seem to be a few people having trouble with Mr A. My dd had something on order and was sent an email that it was now in store but when she got there they said it was not there and there was a queue of people being told the same thing. The excuse? A technical error:(

Twin1 has just taken DGD to school for me. She stayed over last night. We have changed her day back to a Tuesday to stay.
Her bus pass has arrived and she was originally going to come by the bus, but she would have arrived while I was in Towcester with my parents anyway. So I picked her up after I had been there.
Biggest of Mooloo was there dropping off my other DGD before she went to the dentist. So I got to see everyone yesterday.
Once I had collected twin1, I went to Twin2 and DS. Twin2's carer was there, and so I took DS to Aldi and got them thier food for the next two weeks. (Except the basics essentials they will need in between). Not the cheapest of shopping, but when they next do get any funding I have told them I am having £20 off of them each.
My Dad has given me £100 so that I could do the shopping and make sure that they have electric and gas for the next few weeks while we fight the order.
I couldnt have taken them shopping for that much shopping otherwise. But I slept better last night, knowing that Twin2 will now be getting her carers help, and that they will be warm and fed for the next few weeks.
This gives me less stress. I know that critics will say that they will never learn etc etc. But actually, they will never learn even if they were left in the cold and without food. THe difference is the consequensces of what could happen to them. I dont want to even go there.
I hope that the other agency will help with the council and the other benefits ASAP.
I made two more cushions yesterday, and when I went to a coffee morning I showed some to the Mum's and I have sold them!.
So hoping to get a few more things made over the next few days and see if I can make a few quid.
One of the other Mum's is going to play around and update my website for me and see if I can get a few sales that way as well. It would be good to concentrate on my sewing etc. I find that at the moment, sewing is what is keeping the calm. (So I look more like the swan).
Time to get going, I am taking Twin1 back home and letting DS borrow the Laptop for the rest of the day as he has work to do.
Biggest of Mooloo and I are probably going to do a bit of shopping later. If we get time. Heaven knows what is going to actually happen though. I have plans but will they ever be followed.?

  • Hi Mooloo, hope you are well and are managing to get the benefits sorted for the twins. xxx

Hello, sorry been missing in action.l leant the laptop to DS for a few days. (Well I meant it to be for one, but I was so busy i never got back to collect it until yesterday lunchtime.
This is the first time I have managed to use it.
Busy busy, as is everyone at this time of year.
I am also rather spent out!. I did change my DD on the Credit Card, for a reduced amount of half of what I owed to be taken out this month, to spread the cost over the next two to three months so that I had cash available if I needed it for the family. etc. However the bank has not done as I requested and taken out the full amount, which has left me in my overdraft. (I know that this is the cheapest way to borrow, but it means that I do not have cheaper access to cash if I need it over the next few months!). I am so annoyed.
I have sent a message to the bank asking why? but I am not sure I will get much of a reply. I may have to phone up tomorrow.
Its very annoying if to say nothing else.
I wonder what the point of it all is at times.
I am finally sorted with the iphone. I think. I can access my emails and so I havent been completely in the dark, but I havent been able to access some of my things as the passwords have been stored on the laptop, like the one for here! and I cannot remember them. Too many passwords for too many things. Perhaps I should get a note book for themd? But then if you write them down can that be a problem, like pin numbers I supose.
Twin2 and DS are still warm and fed. She was paid one weeks worth of money this week, and gave me back £20 towards the money spent on her. DS has, as I thought been sanctioned for not going to sign on on the right week. He didnt listen to me. Now we await the punishment for that one!. I really do not understand him. He may be dyslexic, but he doesnt have the learning difficulties that the girls have. It makes me so mad. I could really throttle him at times. Well if he wasnt 6ft plus tall and I could reach him!. Maybe a clip around the ear??? Moaning at him just doenst work.
I am worried about the bills that I am going to be still paying out for his debts from when he left home the other year. I am paying them out and his benefits are supposed to be paid to my bank account, but we havent had anything since the beginning of November, yet the £134 has to be paid out every month what ever.
I am going to be on a real frugal route from now on, what ever Christmas presents we bought the other day, when I went out with Biggest of Mooloo, is it. I am now back to square one again, and in overdraft. I expect that the two Credit Cards will take me 3 months to clear off. (If the bank actually listen to the fixed amount DD I had set and not take the full amount again. If they do that I really will be up the creek without a paddle.
The Credit cards are now put away. I am not going to touch them again.
What comes in over the next few months will have to be used better, and I will have to make sure that I dont go buying any fabrics etc in the sales.
One of the Mums at the school is going to help me with my website. That will be a help, getting my stuff on the web and my Paypal buttons working so that things can be purchased straight from me and not from other sites that take commission etc.

I went up into the loft on Friday to take down the decorations and look for some ribbons I wanted. I am alarmed to see that the loft is wet. The condensation? (( i hope thats what it is), is running down and dripping onto my stuff. The Christmas paper was ruined, and the decorations box damp. Water dripped on my head and onto fabrics etc. I have no where I can store them downstairs and will need to now be getting stuff down, washing it, drying it and finding waterproof storage for it all. This is going to be time consuming and at a time when we are all busy with everything else seasonal.
But I will keep calm. I have noticed it at least and will now act.
    Time to get on.
    DGD is on the trampoline.

Mooloo, Can you not contact the companies and change the payments to a token amount of £1?

Or failing that just cancel the direct debits/standing orders.

If DS1 had his own bank account and had no money in it the creditors would not be getting their money.
If he cannot sign on correctly then he needs to bear the consequences such as receiving letters etc.

It is not fair that you are having to subsidise him. You are living on benefits as well.

I do agree that the current system of sanctions is quite harsh but for those without learning difficulties I am hoping it will make them learn about consequences. DS seems to be quite blase about it but then he doesn't need to worry about lack of money because he has you to help him out.

Please don't get into more debt for your children.

  • Mooloo, Can you not contact the companies and change the payments to a token amount of £1?

If he goes to the Citizen's Advice Bureau they'll help him sort his debts out and take the responsibility and stress away from you. They'll contact who he owes money to and set up the £1 payment plans Eager_Elephant mentioned. They also might be able to help with the twins and all the trouble they've been having with the benefits people.

Does your loft have air vents? They should keep it from getting condensation. I'd ring the council if I were you they should be sorting this and your damp problems. Again if you have problems go to your local CAB (can you tell I volunteer for mine!) they are really good at sorting all sorts of problems out and they often have contacts at the council.

Hope you have a good xmas! :xmastree:
  • I was about to say the same. You must cancel those direct debits and let him take them on and then he will be able to get help with his debts. In the meantime, while you are paying them, he won't learn to manage his money. Why should he bother signing on, when you are there to pay his bills? x

Thats what Biggest of Mooloo has said. Let him get on with it.
Mind you she is struggling too, and I am alas not really in a position to help anyone anymore.
I will log into the bank, and start to cancel the DD's and payments. It will be difficult for me to do this, and it feels quite wrong at this time of year. This morning I rang him, to remind him that he had to go and sign on. He tells me that his advisor rang him and he didnt have to go in. (I am not sure he is telling me the truth), he said that he has to go in next week. So why did they tell him the wrong week when he went in last week?? He also swore at me again, for getting on at him, and so I have decided that enough is enough.
If he wasnt living at TWin2's I would let him struggle. However some of the things that are going to affect her will need to be faced.
Her Housing Benefit etc, need confirmation that he is on JSA, and I have told him he needs to get that letter to them urgently. Whether he does or not I am not so sure.
Twin2 is still here at the moment. She stopped over last night to babysit while I went to Biggest of Mooloo's to wrap the presents that we have managed to get together so far. I am relieved to see that the girls will have plenty of presents to open, as we have books, and jigsaws, and clothes all wrapped up individually, to make more gifts.
I have been making my christmas cards today. So watching Christmas24 channel and trying to get festive.
Its not exactly very nice out there. Collected DGD from School early today, so term is over. It takes the pressure off of rushing around in the mornings for a few weeks. So a little holiday for me.
Her Mum is going to take her to MK on Friday. I just hope that she doesnt let her down.
I am going to see if we can make some mince pies etc tomorrow. I think i have the stuff in to do it. So that will keep DGD occupied.
I have a few sausage rolls in the freezer so we can cook them as well. We can have a very festive year after all. The paper chains etc are fun, and the tree has loads of decorations on it now. Rather randomly placed as DGD keeps moving them around.
I have told the Charity that i will not be able to do anything now until the schools start again. I feel guilty that I couldnt do much this last few days but its just the way things are, and volunteering doesnt help the finances etc. I have managed to make a few small sales.
In the new year I am hoping to find a balance between the work for the charity, and some pin money for us to make up the downturn thats been happening in the last two months or so.
I intend to stay optimistic, and not to panic about things.

Hi from my iPhone. Hope that it works. DGDis watching a DVD on my laptop. I spent the best part of the day finishing some sewing projects on the machine upstairs while Molly's daughter kept her amused. It's wet wet wet out there so no plans to go out today. Aiming for a no spends day today and may actually succeed. Arial fitter can't come to fix my signal problems until the new year but at least it means no scrapping around for funds either. I was brave enough to cancel two standing orders of DS's last night and have not paid any of the pAy bills set up.
