Another Kitchen Post...

Hi guys,
Happy new year. I'm afraid this is another kitchen thread.
Basically, I've been looking at kitchen places & online reviews/threads for months now & am more confused than ever where to get a kitchen from!
I am after 16 units (ie 1x drawer pack, wall & base units & housing for a fridge freezer).
I have decided on layout & I have decided on style, like the creamy 'country' style.
Now where the hell do I get one from for around £3000?!
Have had so many quotes & opinions from people/places my head is just spinning!
I know £3000 isn't a huge amount for a kitchen but it's a lot to me so I don't want to make any (more) mistakes.
Really hoping someone could recommend/send me a pic of a similar kitchen in a similar price range and tell me their experiences.
I have £3000 MAX for the units & worktop. Will sort out appliances later & have a family member (chippy) fitting it.
Please help!!!!

Do the best you can to use big units rather than small - eg. A 1000mm unit with 2 500mm doors. Really consider it when you're planning as you will save a huge % on not having too many carcasses. Good planning is essential.
I can't recall ever spending £3000 in Howdens, it depends on who buys the kitchen for you though as even different staff members give different discounts, let alone the person you buy through. I'm trying to remember the name of the not so expensive cream country range, I think it's the Burford.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Not the company im getting it from but this is the kitchen im getting. Im getting about 9 units in January and its costing about £1700 so should be in the ball park. PM me and i'll pass you the details.0 -
Both Howdens and Magnet Trade (not Magnet Retail) should come in on budget if you choose their entry level range - Howdens is the 'Greenwich' Collection.
Remember that with both Magnet Trade and Howdens, tyhe carcasses are the same regardless of what kitchen you buy - its the doors and drawer fronts (the 'frontals') that alter the costs.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

You can do a lot better than the Greenwich range with £3000 for units and tops only. I've never bought a Greenwich range kitchen (DG quietly sticks finger down throat)Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I agree with you completely. I'm just suggesting that if you are on a budget, then you can get something that looks half decent for a low cost rather than having to resort to low quality flat-packed stuff.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Ikea? £3000 would go a long way there: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69868630/#/S29868627, http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69868630/#/S59868616, http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69868630/#/S99868638, http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69868630/#/S39868636,0

Their ranges are more white Scandi than creamy country, which is why I didn't mention. Our recent Ikea purchase has worked out more expensive than the Howdens kitchen we priced up because it's taken so much longer to fit as well.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I can recommend Pineland. They produce beautiful solid wood kitchens, no mdf or chipbaord or whatever the others use. The biggest downside ias you have to paint them or get someone else to do it. If you paint them yourself you might be able to come in on budget but it's hard to judge without knowing what you class as a unit.
PM me if you'd like their brochure. I don't work for them but they emailed me a copy.0 -

Why has it taken you longer to fit DG?? By how much??Perfection takes time: don't expect miracles in a day0 -
I found fitting my Ikea kitchen very straight forward and easy. I've seen the stat style done with an oak worktop, belfast sink and suitable handles and felt is it was a good modern take on the "country style".0
