But please don't be to harsh, i'm fully aware how stupid it was buying something like this when i was already in financial problems
sorry to say what did you expect really?
for the record as I said in previous posts be prepared to loose the handset you currently have and as far as keeping mum with the OR they'll find out soon enough going through your statements etc once your interviewed so dont build your hopes up too much...and as you said you've an old Iphone anyhoo (for the record o2 took my handset closed the account and for a few years I managed on an old PAYG nokia)
o2 scour the LondonGazette as well as access to insolvency searches with their bankruptcy depot so only a matter of time before they find outWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -

I was NEVER going to keep "mum with the OR"!!!
He/she will be told everthing, but what i meant was is will the OR inform O2 of my bankruptcy if i dont owe them anything?
"TinyToes" posted that their O2 phones were left alone.
And as established at the beginning of the thread, i am fully prepared to loose the phone and have got my old 3G out & charged up.0 -
depends though how when etc tiny toes became bankrupt as I said (and I feel like a parrot now) o2 RECENTLY changed their T&C's what one person gets is NO guarantee you will
lucky you have a spare handset...many dont but if i'd have had an old iphone lying around it'd have been the 1st thing sold to raise cash
and as your unhappy with my supplied information i'll step away now and leave it to others to helpWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -

I thought we were not here to judge how someone came to be in their current situation but to support them through the BR process?
I don't see the OP has been anything but up front and they are asking questions to ensure they do not fall foul of any BR rules, that's commendable. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

It depends on the network, if its on O2, it can be argued that it belongs to o2, if its on Orange on the other hand, it never belongs to the network it always belongs to you.
O2
12.1 Unless we’ve specifically agreed to sell you Equipment on an “equipmentonly” basis, we’re supplying it to you because you’ve agreed to enter into the Services Agreement and to receive the Services for a Minimum Period. Because
you’ve agreed to subscribe to our Services, we’ll normally supply the Equipment to
you for no charge or for a charge that includes a large reduction on its normal
cost. If you cancel the Services Agreement under paragraph 10, this Equipment
Agreement will also be cancelled.
Orange
14 Devices
your Device is not a part of your Contract
14.1 Your Device and Accessories are acquired by you outside the terms of your Contract
With regards to your Bankruptcy, O2 is not your friend, dont' worry about them and trying to sell things to pay them off. Sort yourself out and the bankruptcy process will bring everything together. If o2 want to be part of that well and good, and if they want to keep you as a customer thats a bonus.0 -

x 02 worker here, i have seen in past bankrupt people's accounts when working in the call centre department a while ago still keep there mobile and contracts i presume 02 still lets you continue your mobile tarriff if you can provide a grantee or someone as guarentur to your contract. seen family ste in and take over the contract phone as a safeguard in past,
regardless of new terms and conditions you have been supplied the phone and airtime agreemment before change of t&c therefore you still considered as a customer until any in house credit agencies or such provide 02 with the letter of bankruptcy on your file. Consider lowering the tarriff or not using it on pay monthly just get a free Pay as you go sim and use the number with that, What i did with my last months contract with orange and kept the phone and the costs down just paid the 20 pound amonth for 3 months while sending the letter of disconnection for my service. Normally when a phone has been on a 18-24 month contaract the phone stays yous anyway as you have been paying in subsidancy (costs per month) for the items and line rental
Hope that helps
