I have friends who live on that road. The area is mostly residential; safe and dull. Fine if you like that sort of thing.

If you are serious about putting in an offer then you need to visit the area at different times of day, especially after dark.

Thank you. Will visit at different times to see how it is....

We don't mind living in a dull area - we are happy as long as it is safe - hopefully, no teenagers hanging around and harassing ppl as they return from work !

It's a good area if you like sports or have sporty children and want the good schools.

To my limited knowledge of the area now, there is still a riding school in Chelsfield (although I saw that a golf club has been built on the best and closest, riding out, apple orchards): Walnuts Sports Centre just off Orpington high street; Orpington Rugby Club near Eton Road, off Court Road: American Football club which trains is in St Pauls Cray (an area to avoid to live) whose playing ground is in Swanley, but is moving to somewhere near Five Arches (renamed Foots Cray Meadows); a Pick Your Own farm (Hewitts) just off Court Road; and a second golf course at Lullingstone.

Orpington use to have a hockey club too, but I'm not sure if that is still there, but is was situated where the Rugby Club is now, off Goddington Park. Plenty of good hilly country walks too for the active and some quant village pubs in/off, Old Chelsfield, I noiced The Bo Peep was still there, when I visited the other weekend.

    Agreed; and especially at weekends.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I don't think you will find that in the area of Orpington you are hoping to live.

Thank you. So in your opinion, is eton road, Orpington a safe area to live in?

It's been a while since I lived around that area and I don't really know what Eton Road is like (just passed by the end of it many times as I grew up) but Orpington (the end you want) is considered a safe area.

As already said, I think you need to visit it during different times of the day and night.
