This evening we've had a bit of a treat :) there's 8 of us staying at the villa and this evening we had a meal cooked by a chef for us at he villa. We had 6 starters to share, then two main dishes with rice and salad, followed by rice pudding or crime caramel. This cost us £20 a head (not including drinks) and it was amazing! I'm so full right now (it's 10:30pm here) but very much worth it.

Probably going to sound a bit selfish, but I'm looking forward to. Monday when it'll just be me and DH again, as living with 6 other people is beginning to get annoying :p:D I miss having my own space! That said, it's been great :D

I sound really grumpy on the last post, didn't mean to, sorry :o

I've had a wander round town this morning and treated myself to a lovely brown leather purse :) and also a little Turkish style tea set and some Turkish apple tea :) yum! Me and DH shared a pizza for lunch and now just sat not doing very much :p need to pack up our stuff later as we need to be out by 9am tomorrow :( even though our flight isn't until 11pm

We're eating leftovers for tea and then might have a wander into town after for a quick drink but then that's us done!

    Hi SF,

Sounds like you've had an amazing time and that meal sounds delicious and awesome! A chef coming to cook for you :D

You absolutely do not sound grumpy at all - i know exactly what you mean - i love spending time with others but then i like my own space too and being with Mr of course ;)

Your purchases sound fab too :T

We're looking at booking our next hols for in a few weeks time and i've already mentioned to my Mr that we could perhaps look at spending less whilst we are away - the money and spends are there (or spends will be by the time we go) But reading your budget i think really helped me to address this - so thank you :D And my Mr agrees too - lets see what its like in practice though ;)

Enjoy your last day/s there xx

DedicatedDFW - :o glad I can be of some help somehow - most of my ramblings on here probably don't even make sense! :rotfl: where are you going on holiday? I hope you have a fab time :D

So, I'm back! Have been back since the early hours of Tuesday morning, but have been catching up on sleep and other things. I'm at my parents for the weekend now, so I'll have to do a mega update/catch up/sorting out next week when I'm finally back in my own home! :D But yes, lovely lovely holiday and have some great memories from it.

Spending this month has been a bit  but I suppose that should be expected ;) I really really really need to reign it in in September, so watch this space! I'm also going to attempt to do a full month's menu plan, complete with shopping lists next week, so I'll be pondering that over the weekend too. I've already got a few things I'm going to pop on there, but I'm hoping it'll mean we eat more varied things, since I can see the whole month in overview before it starts! That's the plan anyway :rotfl:

What a wonderful holiday you've had SF, so glad you had a lovely time. It's good you have the time to recuperate now you're back too. Have a lovely weekend with your parents x.

Working unexpectedly tomorrow, but as it is forecast very wet, I don't mind (though I had planned to do loads of sewing ;)). I just have to keep thinking of all the extra pennies coming in. :D

Looks like I already have almost enough in my savings account to pay for DS2's accommodation, and DH assures me our joint account has more than plenty to cover the rest, as well as DS1's accommodation...and thats before our pays go in next week....result!!! :j We have been pretty good with our (lack of) spending the past few months, but the card has had a fair battering the past week or so
    .

Been getting things for DS2 to start uni, and other things that just need to be bought (eg new spade, to replace the one DS2 broke! :o).

Have a lovely weekend and I eagerly await your mega update next week xx

    Soooo...mega post!

House deposit - I'm now upto £18,851.18 and that's without having August's pay being added to it, so doing great there :D in fact, I'm 94.2% complete! I'll definitely be able to reach target by the end of September, if I'm careful and continue to be frugal and sensible with our money. DH is more than on board with it all, which definitely helps matters - he's so sensible with money!

House hunting - we were looking online last night and have found another three houses that we like the look of, so I need to ring up and arrange viewings on these. There's a top one out of the three, and if it looks as good as it does on the pictures, I think it'll be a real high contender - the transport links for me to get to work are great, as for DH too and the price is just what we're looking for - so we're keeping our fingers crossed!

Mortgage stuff - got another meeting this afternoon with a different bank to look at mortgage options - I want to be able to overpay the mortgage when we get it, and DH agrees with this (:j) and some are better than others, so it's a case of finding the best deal.

September plans - we have to reign in our spending in September - August has been more expensive than normal, but that's due to going on holiday for 2 weeks, and it was more than worth it :D but, we do need to watch our spending! As I've said in a previous post, I'm going to attempt to do a full month's menu plan with shopping lists done each week and I'm working on that at the moment. It has made me realise that we do eat the same things week in week out, so I'm trying to vary it a bit more without making our food shopping go up too much. One thing we don't need is loo roll :rotfl: as it was on offer at Mr Ts so we now have 24 rolls... :o

Think that's about it, for now! :D
