I am shocked to learn,
There single fare £1.90 is going up to £2.10 and there day saver £4.10 is going up to £4.50.
I know prices go up but its getting to the point where i can not afford to use the bus any more.

Why not buy a monthly, or to save even more, an annual ticket?
If you get the bus 5 days a week, that's about 23 days a month. 23 x £4.50 = £103.50, but the monthly saver ticket is £58. So you'll save a lot of money that way;Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Try moving to the Isle of Wight, a daily ticket is £10!0

To be fair, a return from Manchester to IOW for £10 isn't bad.faithcecilia wrote: »Try moving to the Isle of Wight, a daily ticket is £10!

Arriva already charge £2.10 each way from where I live into my local town centre, and walking a few bus stops doesn't save anything. I live ten minutes away from the town centre (by car) and anything from 20-40 minutes away by bus, depending on which service you use.0

I agree with you, First Manchester's fare are an absolute disgrace. It's now £2.10 for a journey that cost 70p 10 years ago. Fortunately I can walk to the rail station and pay £1.60 for a return to the City centre instead of £4.20.0

The prices have gone a few times within a short space of time recently.
I now buy a monthly ticket so it averages out to an affordable amount...for now.0 -
I have now started to order my ticket online as you only pay for 10 months instead of 12. They debit my account every month with the £58 for the monthly ticket and it arrives at my door before its due to run out (I hope)

The way petrol has shot up a 20p rise does not seem unreasonable. It seems level with inflation? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
