boddy My thoughts are with the young man's family and your DGS too. We had a young man of 26 died here last week too. We are all still reeling from the shock so our thoughts and prayers are for his family too. DS1 was one of those who found him. I just can't imagine how they are all dealing with it.

Good news is DS1 has a job!!!! Full time in a lab. Just what he wanted and local too, so no travelling. His first day is the day of his friend's funeral so I have told him to speak to personnel and see if he can just do a half day.

Bank Holiday Monday list is all completed as I stayed in bed and made phone calls to relatives whilst DH cleaned, did laundry and made lunch. I came downstairs to two loads hanging on airers, one in TD and the floors all cleaned. DS2 was busy in the kitchen cleaning :)

boddy - how awful! My DS1 is 17 and this just doesn't bear thinking about. My thoughts are with his family and friends. Hope your GS is coping.
ditto from ME - DS is 18 so around the same age; DD will be 16 later this month. So very hard for those left behind.

Went to my sisters yesterday and had lovely food and drink and a sleepover and came home earlier. Since it was sunny thought it an excellent opportunity to clear the decorations (I need the ladder from the shed) and it's been done. Glad I 'downsized' this year as the kids weren't much help:( though, to be fair DD is unwell again. Dad was fine - lots of wisecracks about hospitals etc. We drove down in tandem - I got told off for not having my lights on. Think mum was watching the wrong car;) but they came back before us. Xmas cards have been bagged to go to be recycled.

Christmas decorations are all away apart from the lights in the window. I'll wait for OH to help with those. I've cleaned the living room and it's looking all lovely and clean and tidy.

My neighbours are putting their recycling out so i'd better do mine too before it gets dark. I need to get the last load out of the td in the shed and put the rabbits to bed as well.

I'm up for Meadowhall that week...

I want to say a big WELCOME to newbies and returners and plea for you NOT to burn yourselves out. You cannot do all the flying, and extras, at one go at first - if you do level one of each list the first week, then start to add in some level 2s you will get there.

I also want to add we all have different circumstances - I don't really fly at the beginning of the week because I'm out of the house working then. What I do do is have regular days for certain jobs - so, on A Thursday I always try to do bathroom and kitchen; on a Friday I do bedchanges. You are allowed to vary the lists!

Tax return done, filed (both online and a printed copy in my completed tax returns box) and tax bill paid. I don't understand how they can get my tax codes so wrong every year.

Cold is still annoying me, but I do need to try to make a little more progress on tidying up the house, ready for OH to make more dust at the end of the week (hopefully he'll put up the last couple of shelves and the other curtain pole :D)
