In practice the cashback is for new contracts, not new customers. If tracked, you'll get it eventually.
At O2 you can even transfer your number to the new contract within the same network.

Really???? Please can you point me to the place in their T&C's where it says you can do that?

It's practice, not the T&C. Don't remember, probably you have to switch to PAYG before [STRIKE]porting[/STRIKE] transferring.
And Vodafone started doing this recently too.
  • If that's the case then its a HUGE change for the networks and I'm surprised more people don't know about it. Can you give me an example?

That's not the same thing. O2 (and every other network) will - and almost always have - let you move between a PAYG and pay monthly contract, within reason. You are suggesting that if the OP, as an existing O2 customer buying a new O2 contract via Quidco, can then transfer his existing number to the new contract. I don't believe that's allowed.

Unless he is on prepay and is buying a new prepay phone, in which case he can then just use his old SIM in the new phone. BUT if he in a contract then he won't be able to transfer his old number to the new SIM.

They probably will if you are on PAYG, call them and ask to switch to a contract. If you buy a contract from them or elsewhere first, then ask to transfer the number then only O2 and Voda will let you.

It's allowed, O2 retentions are able to do it, it's not publicised, but it's quite a common request. They have a process called "duplicate accounts" where they'll move the number from one pay monthly account to another, the accounts don't even need to be in the same name.
